Haven't come here in years, but let me tell you something...I'd come here with my mother, aunt and cousin, whenever possible.There is no food like home.Nothing compares to what it feels and tastes like to live in the south EXCEPT this Barbeque right here.I'm a picky eater too, but I can't help but savor every moment I spent at this restaurant.I highly recommend spending your lunch or dinner here.Now I'm craving barbecue.Thank you for all the memories Bowlegged.

Food was delicious, Collard Greens, Mac and cheese, and brisket, and a hot links sandwich with mustard, really hit the spot, remind me of soul food back east!!, and Mom's was very friendly, best soul food I've had since I've been out here in San Diego, other than Felix's soul food in Oceanside.Parking: Parking is tough, if you're getting the food to go definitely order ahead!

Seen a review from Latryguy was down in San Diego for weekend and before heading back to Riverside County thought I would pick up a sampler to take home for dinner. Disappointed in sampler for the price they charge and not enough food. I got three ribs, two hot links, and about three slices of brisket with two sides for $47 and some change plus with tax $52 and change not worth the money at ALL. I could have went home bought a slab of ribs, box of hot links and the sides for the price I paid. I should have just went and bought a burger and some fries. Food wasn’t even all that flavorful. Next time I visit Daygo know not to waist my time or even think about going there. But everyone taste buds are different.

I ordered beef brisket. It was the most toughest unflavored piece of meat I’ve ever had the macaroni and cheese was so watery and unflavored, for it was ridiculous and for the price that they charge me, I would not recommend this place has no good barbecue.

Best BBQ in California, good variety super chill atmosphere and vibe very friendly quick and so good! Probably one of the coolest places to eat and hang out in San Diego. Very unique vibe and huge space tons of seating with the best food around .

This is actually my first time leaving a review, but I'm feeling really let down by Bowlegged. So, on April 7th, 2024, I decided to give them a try after seeing their BBQ on YouTube. Being from Texas, I'm a sucker for some good BBQ. I placed my order online, eagerly anticipating some tasty eats. But, LOL, my food never arrived. When I tried reaching out to them, they were closed. Finally, on the 9th, I managed to get through, only to be met with a woman who seemed to have zero chill. I calmly explained that I'd placed my order between 6 PM and 7 PM PST, but she just went off, saying something about stopping orders after 5 PM. Now, I get it, business decisions are business decisions, but as a customer, I really shouldn't have to listen to all that. She kept yelling throughout the whole conversation (BLAMING ME FOR PLACING AN ORDER), and honestly, my appetite vanished faster than you can say 'brisket.' I was initially excited to try their food, but after dealing with such a sour attitude, I lost all interest. Back home in Texas, we're all about that warm hospitality and kindness – not to mention, some seriously delicious BBQ. And, let's be real, the best in the USA! To this day, the restaurant hasn't refunded my money, and every time I try to contact them, they just hang up. Bowlegged BBQ, care to explain your side of the story to the community? Will you be issuing a refund anytime soon?
The greens were too salty along with the Mac & cheese. They got my order wrong, I asked for briskets and got tri-tip. The girl who was trying to take my order was too busy going through her bag, so another woman came up and took my order.The parking is terrible there, it's just street parking.The BBQ ribs are good, and the cake is good, too. The banana pudding was not good at all.Overall, I will not be returning there any time soon. Phil's BBQ is just as good with better parking, customer service, and pricing.If you have high blood pressure, don't get the side dish.?

Came in on a sunday afternoon for lunch. straightforward menu. ordered the rib tips and had to try the sides. everything on point from the potato salad, mac and cheese, baked beans and cornbread. overall vibe is backyard bbq with chill music in the background. beats phils hand downs.
