Brick & Bell Cafe - La Jolla Shores

I can't say enough good things about Brick & Bell! This cozy La Jolla cafe is a gem, and it's quickly become my go to for a perfect morning or afternoon treat. The staff is always welcoming, the atmosphere is perfectly relaxed, and the food is absolutely top tier.
First, the hot chocolate is a must have, especially on a chilly morning. It's a creamy, rich, and perfectly balanced chocolatey dream that feels like a hug in a mug. It’s sweet without being overpowering, making it a truly delicious and comforting beverage.
Then there are the cookies pure perfection. The chocolate chip cookies are baked to gooey perfection and are the ideal companion to a coffee or hot chocolate. They also have a variety of other delicious pastries and scones that are just as amazing.
And for something savory, the avocado toast is divine. It's fresh, flavorful, and piled high with ripe avocado on wonderful, fresh baked bread. It's a genuinely delicious and satisfying start to the day.
Whether you're looking for a quick coffee to go or a place to sit and savor a meal, Brick & Bell is the place to be. You'll be glad you stopped in!

Good cafe. Got the sunrise sandwich on a croissant which was decent. Large black iced tea was good. Came out to ab $15 total. Only place on the strip open before 7 on a Saturday.

this place is so bad. I’m surprised the rating is so high, I was definitely tricked by it. Service was great! They’re nice. But the food tastes like it came out of a cafeteria. It’s bland and dry. The place is small and stuffy, and we had flies bothering us like crazy - the place next door did not have flies!!!

The location is perfect, not far from the Shores Hotel. We got a dirty iced vanilla chai, the sunrise bagel with bacon, mini maple scone and the mini cranberry scone and it was all really good! I liked that they have a 12oz size which a lot of coffee shops don't have. The staff was friendly and ready to answer my questions. But the person taking my order didn't really acknowledge us when we walked up until I spoke up, so I wasn't sure if she was ready to take our order. The kitchen staff that brought out the bagel was really nice and asked if I needed anything else. It wasn't too busy when we came in so I'll definitely come again when I'm in the area!

Beautiful place from all aspects. Great service, great coffee and food. They make your breakfast fresh for you. The best advertising is the line of people standing outside, eager to wait to get their food/cup of coffee. This is Brick & Bell Cafe. Very local Cafe with a cosy vibe, we came back there every day of our stay! They are also very reasonably priced, especially considering all the above. Thank you for the great experience!

This place holds a special place in my heart :) and my loved ones. The prices are nothing to complain about, and the food is fresh and tasty. I’ve had multiple people tell me Brick makes the best iced chai they’ve ever had. Locals love this adorable spot for a reason🩵
