I started going here instead of another Hillcrest spot after reading reviews. I like the availability, although at 930 on a Friday they were out of pepperoni pizza one time. Been having positive experience although this week I prefer non charred bottom.

The Bronx is hands down one of the top 5 pizza places in the country. Its not fancy, they don't import brick ovens from Italy. You won't find any fennel pollen or hand ground flour but holy crap,if heaven were a slice of pizza this would be it. I've eaten there 3 times in the past week. If I wasn't flying out in the morning it would be 4. If you are in San Diego this is an absolute must try spot. 2 slices and a coke 9.00. Cash only.

Gold standard for NY style pizza in San Diego. A little pricier than it used to be, but still consistent sadly they no longer stock their best pie in the case by the slice and there's occasionally a discrepancy in the price they give you on the phone when you order a pie and at the register.

This is the best pizza outside of NYC I’ve had since I’ve lived in San Diego for the past 25 years. Unfortunately it’s pretty far from me so when I do go downtown I always make it a point to stop by and get some pie. The White Stone White is exactly like the authentic Bronx white pizza, it’s sooooo good. Plain cheese is also good, actually it’s all wonderful including the calzones.
The owner is really from the Bronx and he knows how to make a pizza, it’s family owned and operated so support them please. Just know they only take CASH.

They are making pies for to-go orders that are mostly pre-cooked, then finished when they get an order by tossing on the toppings & heating it up a little. Not all pies, but some basics.
