It wasn't as good as i would expect a 4.2 rating to bring. The fresh bread definitely helped make it taste better, but it seemed like they were understaffed and it showed. I would say that the sandwich is slightly elevated from subway, but i think next time i'll take my 12 dollars to jimmy johns or jersey mikes.

I’ve tried to come here twice different weeks and they were closed both times. So unprofessional

Started at the one in Pt Loma...found this one.. eat here at least once a week...the best sandwiches for the best price ..and the owner is such a nice lady

The lady working there was the only employee today. She was really nice. Working by herself she made the sandwiches on the spot and in an efficient manner. That's about where the two stars end. The parking lot for this business is small and is shared with several other businesses here. The restaurant was clean but the soda fountain had tape across it and wasn't working. The lady stated she was out of bread, turkey, and bacon. This really limited the sandwich options. I opted for ham and cheese and added avocado. The sandwich was ok. Definitely disappointing given these reviews. The avocado was avocado at all. It was a runny liquid like a watered down guacamole or something. The bread was very dry and needed water to accompany each bite. The whole sandwich was flavorless. I was in a group of four and all of us were underwhelmed and wouldn't recommend this place. None of the four sandwiches - all different, were any good at all.

Been buying sandwiches here since 85 and they are still the best in my opinion in San Diego. My kids love them too.

Awesome old school blue collar sandwich shop. First discovered this place in the 80s glad they are still around.

Only bad thing I have to say is the lack of wearing gloves and lack of hand washing. She doesn't wear gloves or wash her hands when preparing food.

They make a good sandwich. Pile on the meats and cheese like you have the munchies. Super great.

My favorite sandwich shop in San Diego. Best value you'll find in this city. Great fresh flavor - awesome staff. Can't recommend this place enough!
