I ordered the buffalo chicken salad and it has to be one of the worst salads I ever had. The chicken was boiled and very cold, with no flavor at all. I waiting around 20 mins for something simple even though the place was empty. I will be not going back. $12.00 wasted!

10/2025 Updated Review:
I am saddened to say I need to update my review from 5-stars to 3-stars. Ever since the kind lady that made most of the açaí bowls has left, the quality and service have decreased in the past couple months. I respect the business and truly hope it improves again, it is literally one of those special foods that make me go “mhmm!” after each bite. I used to visit regularly 1-2 times each week for this açaí bowl. Sadly, the bowls the past couple months are lacking their aesthetic/neat presentation, their consistent fruit portions, and need to ensure fresh fruit is used (I had to pick out browned bananas).
I also hope they improve their service and quality check as well. These bowls are not pre-made, when you order one - then they make one. They have the açaí in a big tub and they make a big, fresh batch of in-house granola as needed. I got my most recent açaí bowl (and did not order ahead) and took it with me to go. My office is just a 4 min walk over and when I opened it, the açaí had spilt and the whole bowl was thoroughly melted! :( It was a melted açaí soup, I had never been given a melted bowl before. I didn’t have time to go back and return it, and I honestly believe I was given someone else’s açaí bowl order who hadn’t picked it up yet. My friend’s bowl in the same order was freshly made because she doesn’t like coconut, yet my order with everything on it was melted. It takes at least 30+ mins for these bowls to thoroughly melt. A few days later I returned and politely shared the feedback with the owner and sadly did not receive any reassurance and felt dismissed. I wasn’t expecting a free bowl or anything, but something like “I’m sorry that happened, that is not normal. Thank you for letting me know, I’ll look into this so it doesn’t happen again.” Instead I got “I don’t know how that happened. I don’t know. Okay, take care.”
Again, I truly hope they improve. I’m not visiting as often, but I hope my next açaí bowl and the açaí bowls going forward improve because I still believe they’re one of the best açaí bowls in San Diego. The pictures are from when the quality was unmatched before, you can see the care and time the kind lady took before to make each one. If it wasn’t strawberry hearts, they were displayed neatly like the bananas. ❤️
Original Review:
This is my fav place in central San Diego to get açaí bowls! The staff are so friendly and welcoming, the service is great, and omg the açaí bowl is delicious! What really sticks out is the granola they use is made in-house and they put it on generously! I went on Valentine’s Day for lunch and the kind lady who makes the açaí bowls cut the strawberries as hearts - so cute!! They really pay attention to their customers and make it a great environment.

I tried the turkey/bacon/avocado , and honestly, I was a little disappointed. I ordered an entire sandwich, but for $14, there was just had 1 piece of bacon and two slices of turkey, mostly lots of lettuce. Felt a bit pricey for what you get.
On the brighter side, I also tried a breakfast croissant with ham, egg, and cheese. It was very good and hearty.
The place itself is super cute, with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. They offer daily specials, sandwiches, coffee and lattes, salads, fruit, and other drinks.
All in all, a nice spot with good vibes and some tasty items, though the sandwich portion could be more generous for the price.

Very small bowl with very little chicken. Spent 14$ for like 15 g of protein.

At first I was excited to find a healthy lunch spot near work. I ordered the Thai Chicken Salad and the chicken was still raw. It also had frost bite on it. It looks like they cooked it previously, not all the way, then froze it. The just threw it on my salad frostbitten but raw. Also, I was the only one in there and stood for a few minutes but the order counter before the two girls behind the counter acknowledged me. No “welcome in, I’ll be right with you” just straight up ignored. I won’t be coming back here for fear of raw chicken again.

I jumped into Café 160 last week while traveling to San Diego on business. Great little local place, located in office property. Looked to be family owned or definitely mom and pops, great service and great food. Thank you for a good cup of coffee!

Super extensive menu giving a variety of dishes to choose from. The location is odd but it’s a gem to be found. It’s always a treat to find some place with healthy unique options.

I was excited to try the food after seeing the vegetarian options. Had my first bite, and there was chicken! Owner / Staff was kind enough to offer to remake it. I had lost my appetite so I requested a refund. They then rudely grabbed the item out of my hand and threw it away with no apology.

Enjoyed a breakfast bagel with sausage, egg and cheese and it was really delicious and very filling. Food was fresh, the place was clean. Prices on the higher side, but I definitely got my money's worth. I will return to try a lunch menu item. Not many good deli type places nearby, so I'm glad this one so far appears to be quality.
