I doordashed a chicken kebab plate 🍢 it was the best meal I've had all week, probably this month. I ordered side of pita bread, do yourself a favor and sub potatoes for rice and an extra tzatziki sauce, tangy savor is off the charts. I'd try the hummus too. Why go to Greece when you can have this? Haha obviously go to Greece but it's saving you a few thousand, at least.

I accompany a person with mobility issues, and dementia to this place once or twice every six months or so.
It's one of his favorite places to go, because parking is usually easy, and they have a great happy hour, which he loves.
Their service and kindness towards him is beyond outstanding 👏 🙌 ❤️. I also saw several folks using mobility equipment while we were there, and that tells me this is a comfortable place to go.
Not only is their food really tasty, it's reasonably priced, and you can fill up at Happy Hour for less than 25 before tip, including a glass of wine.
This place is what I want everything I dine out.

So I was primarily disappointed due to the fact that I arrived at approximately 2:55. Got a table for Happy Hour for work group. When I was getting ready to pay, I realized that I was not offered the same price for food as I ordered before 3:00pm! Like minutes, (maybe mere seconds!!) before 3:00pm.
The same drinks and food ordered by friends 10 minutes after my order were at the discounted rate!
Yes, it was my bad, for not waiting 120 seconds to order but you guys couldn't throw a sister a bone? A hard working public educator?
In any case, food was good until it was twice as expensive as my groups. Service and atmosphere were good until the realization that I had been duped.

What a great discovery. EVERYTHING about Cafe Athena is wonderful. Impeccable service (thanks Sergio), delightful ambiance and amazing food. We did a combo of happy hour items and off the regular dinner menu. This place has been in business for almost 35 years….that is the best testament. Our new go-to-Greek restaurant in San Diego. Don’t miss this place.

I love this place. The food is delicious, their drinks are great, and the service is friendly and efficient. The best thing is their happy hour where you can try different samples for a very good price.

Order the Saganaki if you are a cheese fan. It comes with a flame show and the taste is so good. We go to this restaurant often because almost everything in the menu is delicious. The interior design is cozy and rustic. There is a small outdoor seating area. The staff is so nice and attentive. They always have a smile on their face. Overall I definitely recommend this place.
Before I forget: they have a killer happy hour after 3 pm. Do not miss it.

I had been to Cafe Athena as a child with my mother when it first opened, but had not been back again until the other night. It was delicious! The service was great. The atmosphere was pleasant and relaxed. And the bill did not break us when it came. We have found our go to Greek restaurant!
