Great atmosphere. Delicious drinks - we had the michelada flight and ofrenda margarita (October special). Our server Aide made a suggestion of the tacos Al pastor which complemented my sopa de albóndigas super well. Highly recommend. ¡salud!

Family Visit from Texas. Amazing staff and service. Didn't feel rushed to leave. FOOD AWESOME. Huge margaritas wife loved it I definitely had to drive. Amazing people and staff. Prices were well worth the atmosphere and service. Fajitas. Our son Fell in love with the smash burger. Huge burger and juicy. Have told all our friends about Cafe Coyote. If we ever go back to San Diego we Will return to this restaurant. Beautiful location Close to Everything. Buildings and foliage.

I've been looking forward to getting back to Cafe Coyote for a while. Was disappointed in the carne asada burrito and salsa. Both were bland and the salsa had zero heat.
The shrimp fajitas we ordered were delicious! We can’t wait to go back. Francisco V. was our waiter. Excellent service!

I would definitely visit again...even just for the FRESH, handmade on site tortillas! The best I've ever had! From the accommodating hosts to my amazing server Luis S (who was incredible with recommendations and kindness) ... everyone was so nice! Food was good with generous portions and decent pricing! Loved the festive atmosphere and plenty of seating!

This review comes from a born and raised in a small town/farm in Zacatecas Mexico, point being I'm not easily impressed by Mexican food. This place is good in all aspects based in my experience mid October 2025. Restaurant was busy when we arrived, but still got seated right away. Good waiter answered questions we had on the menu and made some recommendations. Food came out frailly quick, which at that point we thought it would be a bad sign. Man were we wrong, plates were generous, food was fresh and delicious, we were a party of 7 and we all looked at each other surprised of how good everting was. Flour tortillas were THE BEST !!! Sure the prices might not be the lowest but well worth it.
Highly recommended and we will for sure come back in our next trip to old town SD.
