I've been going to Cafe Lulu's for good 4-5 years and this year a lot less than other. Throughout the years this place has changed from a OK place to a nicer and more relaxing environment unlike other hookah spots that always have music blasting and are trying to make it into a night club. They have a good selection of alcohol and beer and even on tap as well. One thing I wish is for them to change hoses more often and take a little better care of their hookahs. Instant light charcoals are the usual at every hookah spot but I really wish they went back to coconut coals or at least not instant light including Lulu's. (Update) I went back today and the place feels like an 18+ club blasting hip hop music. It's a personal choice that a hookah lounge is to relax and enjoy but this one wasn't. They renovated the place and personally I don't like it and they serve you with personal size hookahs now and still use quick lights. I highly recommend The Art Lounge instead and it's just literally 2 blocks away. They serve with high grade hookahs, lotus, rubber hoses and the place is extremely relaxing. Was very sad to go back today.

Best hookah in downtown San Diego! Happy hour separates this lounge from any other and even the regular prices are fair. The workers are very helpful, the coffee is amazing, and the café has been beautifully remodeled. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a good time in downtown!
