Excellent customer service and live piano player set a nice atmosphere. Our server raved about every dish but we were sadly disappointed by the lack of flavor. Also, the prices displayed on their website are very outdated.

I felt at home here. Amazing ambiance. The food was awesome. Full of flavor. Penne vodka is the move. Highly recommend!

We ate an early dinner here and were impressed with the open, cheery atmosphere as well as the attention we received. The food was excellent and appropriately priced for the portion sizes. We would recommend to anyone in the La Jolla area for lunch or dinner.

"Cafe Milano", banking on its prime location and a seemingly friendly Italian server, is a major disappointment. The food is a disgrace to Italian cuisine—uninspired, flavorless, and clearly from a can. The "complimentary" bread resulted in a charge on our bill, which felt disingenuous. The chicken piccata was nothing more than boiled chicken slathered in a bland sauce, and the vegetables tasted like they were pulled from a can. To make matters worse, a band-aid fell off our server's hand and landed on our table, and there was a hair in our food. The overall lack of attention to quality is appalling. The food was NOT worth the $110 we paid. Don’t be fooled by the scenery or the server’s charm - claiming everything on the menu is the "best in San Diego"; this place is a culinary catastrophe that should be avoided.

What a gem! We were greeted by the chef, sat out on the patio and enjoyed a delicious meal! Mom had the Pomodoro appetizers for her main meal whereas I started with a bowl of Pasta y Fagioli. It was loaded with beans, tomatoes, pasta & prosciutto. I then had the Torteplini Milano (tortellini, prosciutto, peas and cream.) Oh my, it was wonderful!! I'm hoping to oder dessert, have my eye on the ricotta cheesecake... Delish! I wish we lived closer.. We'll definitely be back!

Food
- 10/10. Best lasagna l've ever had. Best minestrone soup l've ever had. Excellent Italian wine menu. I could eat here once a week if I could.

Service
- Everyone seems to get a long and work together to get the job done. All servers spoke to me instead of just one. People constantly checked on me. I will say that when I first entered I waited about 5 minutes before anyone spoke to me and even when I sat down it took another 5 minutes before a menu was given to me or anyone speaking to me. However, I contribute it to everyone being busy. Nevertheless, everyone was pleasant!

Ambiance
- it's a very cozy restaurant. I loved how simple but well decorated everything was. It was a warm environment. It's perfect for a cute date night or just a family dinner one Sunday evening. The live pianist absolutely contributed to the overall experience.

We had the veal parmesan and chicken parmesan. The meat was so thin, there was more breading than meat. Highlight of the meal was the bread and balsamic dip that they charge extra for (not included in the meal). Pasta sauce lacked flavor. Really wanted to like it but was sadly disappointed.

Had the veil parm and chicken parm. The veil was tough and chewy and the chicken was non-existant. The best part of the meal was the bread and balsamic vinegarette. We had high hopes due to all the great reviews.

I wish we were staying here longer to be able to return to this amazing restaurant. Authentic Italian dishes with great flavours, looking too good to eat! Thoroughly enjoyed my Fettuccine Alfredo con Pollo and treated myself to a Cannoli and Espresso for desert. The service was exceptional! Highly recommended if you're wanting a true Italian experience.

The best Tiramisu in California. !!!!! Pascual (the owner) does it himself every day.

I regret dining here. The woman who set our table touched every part of our cutlery with her bare hands after handling menus, which made me feel uncomfortable, like they were not clean to use and eat with. I placed my order and they put in the wrong dish, so they had to remake my plate. Usually when a restaurant gets something like that wrong they partially comp the dish, but instead they charged me $26 for a dish that was listed as $22 in the menu. We were also charged $2 for a basket of bread that we didn’t request… it was just placed on our table (by the same woman who touched the silverware all over). The water bottle that was placed on our table was dirty and unlabeled, while every other table had a clean, labeled Aqua Panna bottle. We saw the table next to us receive amazing service and treatment and we were confused why we were treated so poorly. Will never dine here again. Diner beware!
