We ordered melezane for an appetizer. The basil was fresh, and the eggplant was cooked well. However, the cuscinetti de pollo (day special, according to the owner) was too salty. The grounded chicken in the pasta had a pungent odor and sticky texture, which means the meat was not fresh. We also ordered a fettucini con pollo, but it was very oily and salty, too. Chicken slices also had the same odor. I was very looking forward to trying the desserts (tiramisu) before ordering, but after eating the food, I had lost all my appetite. Will not return again.
Amazing! Service was superb, desserts are a must!
We had a large party (21) for graduation celebration and they did an amazing job accommodating us! Staff were friendly and efficient and the food was delicious!
This is a hidden gem in San Diego! Must try will definitely come back!
Owners were on the field working keeping the place live absolutely loved here. You are blessed if you experience live piano music ❤️
I thought I was back in Italy! Absolutely amazing from the food to the service to the Italian to the live piano music to the known locals coming in! I enjoyed the fettuccine con Pollo, my son loved the steak and fries, the pizza and pasta e fagioli soup, and the pasta/seafood dish. What a great night!
Delicious food. Great service. Would go back. Highly recommend the tiramisu. Pianist was lovely!
Had an absolutely great time here with the wife for a nice dinner after a hectic week we both had. First off, the atmosphere was great. They clearly pay attention to detail as everything was spotless. There was a live piano performance the entire time, which added a very nice touch! Wine recommendation was spot on for what we wanted. Food wise, the bread and nice balsamic oil mix tasted good, the caprese was refreshing, and the Fettuccine Milano was delicious. I had a minor issue with my mushroom risotto, which was addressed in a very thoughtful and professional manner. Their tiramiso was probably the best I have had, and they served delicious capacinnos and desert wine. Above all else, the service was great, with a good mix of attentiveness, professionalism, and humor. I look forward to visiting again when in the area.
The food was not Italian! The spaghetti was not al dente, the ragù tasted like if it was from a can. The veil was boiled and without flavor. The only thing I was able to eat was the bread and they have a good mixed balsamic and oil . I was very disappointed with the food. It’s American- Italian.
Excellent customer service and live piano player set a nice atmosphere. Our server raved about every dish but we were sadly disappointed by the lack of flavor. Also, the prices displayed on their website are very outdated.

We ate an early dinner here and were impressed with the open, cheery atmosphere as well as the attention we received. The food was excellent and appropriately priced for the portion sizes. We would recommend to anyone in the La Jolla area for lunch or dinner.

"Cafe Milano", banking on its prime location and a seemingly friendly Italian server, is a major disappointment. The food is a disgrace to Italian cuisine—uninspired, flavorless, and clearly from a can. The "complimentary" bread resulted in a charge on our bill, which felt disingenuous. The chicken piccata was nothing more than boiled chicken slathered in a bland sauce, and the vegetables tasted like they were pulled from a can. To make matters worse, a band-aid fell off our server's hand and landed on our table, and there was a hair in our food. The overall lack of attention to quality is appalling. The food was NOT worth the $110 we paid. Don’t be fooled by the scenery or the server’s charm - claiming everything on the menu is the "best in San Diego"; this place is a culinary catastrophe that should be avoided.

What a gem! We were greeted by the chef, sat out on the patio and enjoyed a delicious meal! Mom had the Pomodoro appetizers for her main meal whereas I started with a bowl of Pasta y Fagioli. It was loaded with beans, tomatoes, pasta & prosciutto. I then had the Torteplini Milano (tortellini, prosciutto, peas and cream.) Oh my, it was wonderful!! I'm hoping to oder dessert, have my eye on the ricotta cheesecake... Delish! I wish we lived closer.. We'll definitely be back!
