When we got to our room it had not been vacuumed and two of the tables were dirty. There was old food on the floor between the tables. A maid came up promptly and vacuumed and cleaned the tables. We asked if we could get fresh towels the second morning and a man at the hotel front desk said we would need to ask for that prior to check in. (???) We called a second time and a maid came with replacement towels and offered to clean. They will reluctantly make the beds, vacuum, and change out the towels during your stay apparently if you call, but the hotel front desk was somewhat combative. Our room was very shopworn. The furniture and woodwork edges were all nicked up. There was bottled water in the room priced at $4.25 each which is ridiculous. Many hotels will give you bottled water. I do not recommend this hotel. They should make it clear that they have inadequate staff to clean up.

I am frequently in San Diego for short business stays and it was my first time at Doubletree. I had such a pleasant time thanks to its great location, rooms, and service. In particular, I want to thank Napoleon (who was on night duty) for being so accommodating and for making sure my stay was comfortable. Considering making your hotel my go-to when I’m in town.

Jason, Ron and Dominic (and others) at the bar and restaurant are fun and fabulous. Even if you are not staying in the hotel pop in for a drink and some laughs. You’ll be glad you did. On the hand the room and the front desk staff left a bit to be desired.

Terrible food in restaurant, rooms have weird smell, bedding definitely not up to any Doubletree standard. If like us, you are a HH member of high status, pay the extra and stay elsewhere. Very disappointed.

The rooms were not that nice. The rest of the hotel was. There was water stains on the inside of the ironing board closet. There was also chipped and messed up wood furnishes, including small scuffs. Especially the front door to my room. The other thing that I am not happy about is that I was charged for the two waters that were in the room at $8.50 each for some small Dasani's, which should be complimentary. Every other hotel gives complimentary waters. I should not be charged for that. I was also not asked if I wanted to have my room upgraded, but other customers were. When I approached the front desk about it, they just said sorry and still didn't ask me if I would like my room upgraded.

It was our 30 year anniversary . We wanted to walk down memory lane . Doubletree Hilton was the perfect place to do so . The trolley is like 100 ft from the hotel , wow !!!! We were there for 4 days and we only spent $12 dollars on transportation the whole time . We went to the seaport village , old San Diego village , San Diego zoo , little Italy , the can even take you near to the gondola rides . This hotel is pet , kid , business , couple friendly . Restaurants , FedEx , food stores , right outside . Indoor outdoor pool , gym , jacuzzi , Starbucks . Isabella is an awesome receptionist !!! Knowledgeable , friendly . This hotel is carefully paced to give you the best indulgence of the area . Great job guys !!!!

The hotel was clean and spacious. The staff was friendly and professional. The location was quiet, but close to everything and accessible. I also appreciated the indoor AND outdoor pool which allowed my family to swim regardless of the weather. I gave only 3 stars because I was unpleasantly surprised to learn that neither parking or breakfast is included in the cost of the room. $34 per night for parking. $25 per person ($16 for kids) for waffles and cereal. Yikes.

This is a must stay in our book. The staff was fantastic, the rooms were clean and comfortable. Besides the best cookies ever, they had a popcorn machine out one night. It’s a well taken care of establishment with all the fixings! Restaurants in walking distance was a bonus. It was NYE and we weren’t price gouged!

We were in a top floor 2 room suite after a terrible experience with Hyatt Regency Mission Bay Spa and Marina, so this was a last minute booking. The front desk was super accommodating though not sure why it took 2 hours to clean a room for early check-in, but they were able to get us checked in early non the less. The lounge was open and the bartender was also very accommodating while we sat for 2 hours with a 1.5 yr old. The lobby, pool, lounge, and restaurant areas were on point. Parking fee is $34 a night to self park but luckily there is street parking if you don't want to pay. The room was adequate and clean but def in need of a facelift. the handle fell off one door in the bathroom and the other door wouldn't open. They used wood laminate in the bathroom which had obviously gotten wet and expanded, mirror surround was broken and areas of the wallpaper had little squares that had been cut out and poorly replaced. The water pressure is sad. we also asked for a crib at 3 pm when we left to visit friends and when we returned at 9 pm there was no crib and when they brought one up an hour later it was so rickety and wobbly we just let her sleep in the bed with us. Now you might be wondering why with all of that it was 3 stars. The employees, location, and amenities saved it. But if anyone from the hotel is readying this, your top floor rooms need a hard facelift. The kicker was realizing the wood door is actually wrapped in vinyl the had woodgrain print.

My stay here was worthwhile! I booked a standard room for 3 nights and I received a complimentary upgrade to the King Studio Suite. The suite is spacious, and has a large balcony with a nice view of the pool!! Also, the front desk staff was super accommodating and friendly! Kirk greeted us with a warm smile and gave us a lot of recommendations for things to do around the city. This hotel is in a great location with everything you need nearby! Be sure to check out this hotel the next time you're in San Diego!

The ambiance was nice the food was ok. They had it set up across such a large space that you might not have remembered to go back all the way to the front. The desserts were mediocre. If you want to take young children to a nice brunch this is the place. The food was more like family food.

Went for Mother's Day Brunch, first dining experience here. Food was better than expected, but desserts were not good. Our server was very attentive, but did not speak much, if any, English, so any requests beyond the usual (I asked for just orange juice instead of a mimosa) required him to find a manager to translate. Overall a good experience, but not sure we'll be returning for special occasions.

Had Thanksgiving buffet dinner here. The staff had a bit of difficulty keeping up with the supplies of food in the buffet. There were many choices, but fewer choices that kept up with demand may have been a better idea. Never did get to sample the mashed potatoes since the pan was empty even after several trips back . What food was available was very good though. The service also left a bit desired. Empty plates were left on the table until we asked the server to clear it. The server was very friendly, but did not seem to have the training needed to meet the upper height of service the restaurant was striving for.

The Thanksgiving Brunch Buffet was delicious and very affordable. The service from all of the Staff was fantastic too. A few notables: Mac 'n cheese, stuffing, and gravy were outstanding.

Nice setting for Thanksgiving Brunch. The turkey was very moist and tender. Many side offerings. The Chef was very visible and came to each table a few times and shared secrets as to how he likes preparing various dishes. When I made reservations, I mentioned we would be bringing a bottle of champagne. When we arrived, they had an ice bucket already set up table side. The deserts were plentiful and the Cherries Jubilee was prepared beautifully. Overall, a nice alternative to cooking for Thanksgiving.
