Great place to eat. Wish they would reopen. They have been closed for 6 months now.

Eagerly awaiting this locations reopening. I miss that delicious, juicy sweet pork in a wet burrito, and queso!

Love this spot so much!! Can't wait for them to reopen. I go all the time when in Las Vegas and was so happy when they opened a location so close to me.

Why is this place still closed many restaurants have reopened and adapted to Covid-19?

I love Cafe Rio! I'm bummed the Point Loma location is currently closed. For a chain, it's my favorite Mexican food! Their salads are so big and yummy!!!

I absolutely love Cafe Rio. The food is so delicious and i will go out of my way to drive here even though I don't live in the area. Think more authentic version of chipotle. Their chile roast beef is my personal favorite but all of their proteins are delicious. Highly recommend the salad though the burrito is huge and amazing as well.

I’m obsessed with this place, they have the best salads and their sweet pork burritos are amazing as well. I just wish they had location in the north county area.

They were closed when we called on Sunday but this review is pre-lockdown.This place is the cat's pajamas. The tortillas are made fresh in front of you. And they are delicious! The food is always hot and fresh, it is made in front of you and the kitchen is open and in full view which is great to see. They use fresh and I believe responsibly sourced ingredients (what their in house TVs advertise anyway). Your compiled burrito plate goes under a pizza type conveyor belt to get blasted several hundred degrees. Kind of fun to watch. They have a few different protein options but the best is the pork. OMG the pork. I have no idea what the marinade is but it is freaking awesome. The pork is juicy, tender, I dare say succulent, and a little bit sweet. The cheese they use is awesome too. You can get a salad, but lol salad. C'mon. This is a burrito place for god sakes! It is messy ecstasy! However do not discount the queso. This place has the best queso around, hands down. I have no idea what is in it, we've seen mock recipies online but nothing holds a candle. We always eat the entire serving and I'm not ashamed to admit that hahaha. Delectable with just the right flavors and heat.Definitely order the queso and the Barbacoa burrito. You will thank me.Oh and if you've never had a tres leches cake before.... do it. It is a very rewarding experience and it will make you crave it again in the future. There are two negatives but I don't think they merit minus stars. One is the price. They are pretty comparable to chipotle. Which is expensive. Two people can easily spend $25 dollars here in one sitting. However my counterpoint to that is that a) you get what you pay for, b) they do have an app and rewards and discounts, and c) you're supporting the business and community, better than some national chain in many ways. The other negative is inconsistency regarding the first point. Sometimes we get employees that are newer and very "by the book" and nickel and dime for every little thing. Other times we get the manager who is very polite and open and willing to make fair substitutions and adjustments without question. I guess the managers or owners have more flexibility which makes sense. But they should encourage every worker to be flexible... customer service is what brings people back as much as the food, and people remember good service and pleasant experiences, and bad ones spread like wildfire. All that being said, we miss this place and can't wait for them to reopen!

I love this place very much. It has a very nice air. The food is marvelous. the service is powerful and the waiters are very professional. The cost is reasonable. I highly recommend.

So many great choices! Ordered Cancun shrimp taco double, plate made with delicious flour, Sonora style, tortillas, custom made with my choice of double pinto beans, no rice, pico de gallo salsa! Was planning on saving 1/2 of plate, but couldn't resist! $8.19 +tax

This rating goes for the location, not necessarily the food or service. This is the second time where I came to this location roughly about 35 min before close, and all the chairs are on the tables and bless their hearts the employees must want to leave on time. Though that may be the case, or for whatever the reason it may be, it's confusing to a customer who drives past and is wondering 'are they closed?' Checked yelp...nope their open, so the whole point is, I get they all have their jobs to do, but making the customer question their business hours and whether or not they can now not plan eating inside because all the chairs are turned in that now you have to take your food to go, kinda takes away the appeal of eating there. So maybe put the chairs up 10 min before close so customers feel welcomed to stay and eat may be a suggestion?! Overall love cafe rio's food, this was solely based on the location's closing process.

Horrible dining experience! Worst $25 I have ever spent. on Sunday night 2/23/2020. Will go to chipotle next time with better food and spend less. My wife and I went out to dinner last night. We normally do not complain about food at all, and this is my first yelp review. but this place was honestly ridiculous. 1. The staff was not welcoming at all, and acted like it was a burden to take our order. For a sunday night, the line was pretty full and it took atleast 15 minutes per person to get through the line. We didnt get our food for atleast half an hour. "Fast Casual" 2. The food was not at all what was pictured on the menu. Most of the food on the line looked like it was several old/brown looking, and they had ran out of most ingredients with no plan to put out more (guac, sour cream, salsa). 3. There were 3 employees working, 1 of which was intensely grating multiple blocks of cheese. Mind you, cheese was the only ingredient they had a lot of already. Go figure. The worker said they were severely understaffed and could not take the time to serve everyone well. Will never set foot again in one of these restaurants. It was a horrible experience and this restaurant is a waste of money. Save yourself the trouble!
