Holy. Yum. Our cake was included in our venue package so we thought it would be pretty standard and we were blown away!! Even if they weren’t included we would have gone with them anyways. Any time our guests have commented about the wedding, “and your cake was so good” is always part of it! We had a 3 tier cake, each tier was a different flavor and they were all fantastic, banana with a decadent chocolate truffle filling, red velvet, and vanilla with the passion fruit filling…my mouth is watering just remembering how good they were. We’re already planning to order a mini cake from them on our first anniversary! (Though I’m hoping there’s a good excuse to order one before then!) They even made little figurines of our fur babies so we could incorporate them into the wedding and they were so cute!

Stumbled upon this bakery in my searches before our wedding and ordered a tasting box. Pickup was easy and every flavor was insanely good. They were very accommodating, and cakes are reasonably priced and beyond delicious. I didn't have a lot of dreams about the other details for our wedding day but I did for the cake, and honestly it was above any expectations I had. Highly recommend and can't wait for any excuse to order a cake from here!

The team here is absolutely amazing. My fiance and I did not have a specific vision for our wedding cake, but we've seen photos of this team on Cake Wars so we knew they had the creativity to make anything look great. We decided to trust their process and email them some photos of us and our favorite things and they literally went above and beyond and created the most beautiful personable cake for us, all done via email. They incorporated so many aspects of our relationship on our cake from San Francisco to San Diego, from kayak cake toppers to the Mammoth Mountain sign (our favorite place to snowboard) and it turned out beautifully, AND tasted great! (If you do prefer to be more involved, Jen and Jen definitely asked us for our input very thoughtfully :) We just chose to say to do whatever and surprise us and we're glad we did. ) I have no monetary motive to write this review, costs were baked into our restaurant wedding package, we were just so pleased that we had to say something!!

This review is a little late, but I was reminiscing with my husband about our wedding anniversary coming up, and realized I needed to give praise to this amazing bakery. To begin this review, I need to mention that initially, I did not want a cake at all. We had plans for a very non-traditional wedding and I'm not a huge dessert person. When I do eat sweets, cake and pastry are not my first choice. However, after not being able to decide on a dessert option, I decided to get a cake, if even just for my guests. We also were coming from out of state and tasting was not really an option, so costumer service was very crucial in this situation. Because I'm not a cake person, I was picky. I had eaten pistachio cake that I had really enjoyed from a deli that catered a reception I went to years prior, and I initially tried to get a cake there, but it was too difficult to coordinate. Not many other bakeries in the area offered pistachio as a flavor, but upon my search, I stumbled upon CAKE. They responded to my inquiry almost immediately and asked a lot of detailed questions of what I was looking for in flavor and decor. This gave me ease, as I was not going to see or taste my cake until the day of the wedding. I chose espresso filling, because my husband loves espresso and I had already chosen the cake flavor. Our colors were emerald and charcoal, so the flavors even fit with the wedding palette. I had asked for green palm leaves and black fondant to match our wedding theme. Once I saw the cake, it was exactly what I had imagined. I could not wait to taste it, and once I had, it was even better than I had imagined! There was no synthetic taste at all to the cake, and the espresso filling was a perfect balance of sweet and bitter to the nutty flavor of the pistachio. Though the wedding itself was perfect, guests were raving about the cake, (that I initially never wanted) and it made me so happy! Even months later, I was asked how the flavors came together so well and how I found the bakery. As someone who does not eat cake, I must say that I absolutely adored this one. If ever I need a celebratory cake again, I will be getting it from The Fabulous Cake Girls! ***Note: having a non-traditional wedding, we opted for a Polaroid camera for guest use in lieu of hiring a photographer, so attached are some photos taken by guests with photos of decor for reference!

Best chocolate cake ever! Thank you for making our daughter's graduation cake a success. It was sooo delicious and spot on with design. The cookies were awesome too. So yummy!! Guests were so impressed with both. They were very accommodating also for such a short notice. Will order again!!!

The Fabulous Cake Girls were amazing!!! The banana chocolate truffe was to die for!!! I couldn't stop talking about the cake and still to this day want more. Communication was great, they exceeded the design I wanted and the cake was so delicious and moist. They also had no problem adding the gold details we requested. Being a destination wedding, I was happy that we went to get a sample box because our original cake flavors we were thinking of getting were not our final choices after tasting the samples. While the cake looked lovely for our wedding, we were not impressed with any of the flavors and were extremely disappointed with how DRY the actual cake was. It was dry for the tasting and dry the wedding day of as if it were sitting in a fridge for too long. We asked our guests for their thoughts and most of them shared similar opinions and thought the actual cake was "just okay" and dry. We ended up throwing out our topper without touching it as neither of us wanted to eat the cake when it was fresh let alone the next day or a year later. Such a waste... If we're spending hundreds on a wedding cake it better taste and hold up better than anything made from home (this one definitely did not). Unfortunately our venue would not let us choose our cake vendor so we had no choice otherwise we would have gone with another cake or cake-like vendor after the tasting.
The truffle banana and passion fruit cakes were delicious. The buttercream frosting with chocolate roses were beautiful with modern elegance. They delivered on time and were very easy to work with. We added faux tiers, added decor, Jen answered questions quickly about dimensions for getting a cake stand and various options throughout our planning process. Reason for one star rating:We completed our tasting and selection of our cake a year ago. Day of the wedding arrives and there’s no cake. Come to find out they do not have an order for our cake, a cake was rushed over and in time for our cake cutting. After our wedding, we started the follow up process and were told it was our responsibility to complete the order electronically (which was never explained or else it would have been completed a YEAR AGO when we called to confirm our selection). The bakery alleged they called us and left us SEVERAL voicemails, which was simply not true. We were on top of our wedding planning and in constant communication with all of our vendors. There was zero ownership or responsibility taken by the bakery, the impression was that we should have been happy there was a cake at all despite it not being what we had selected. It’s important to note that the cake provides was tasteless and seemed to be an old cake. Despite it being one of the happiest day of our lives, this process definitely left a sour taste in our mouth. Literally.
