They need to close this place down and let somebody come in that could do a better job, better atmosphere, better trained employees, give good customer service, don't close the restaurant down in the middle of the day and kick the customers out, bad service, bad service bad service The place is always empty, You never see anybody in there because the manager owner guy is a complete jerk. Very bad vibes in this place, Very strong smell of mold and mildew, and mold in the bathroom, It's empty all the time because of terrible ownership, management

Tried the Breakfast Bahn Mi the other day and was pleasantly surprised by the portion size. Can’t speak for anything else on the menu but this was good and I’d come back to try other items someday.

So glad this location opened up! Hands down best Banh mi in San Diego. Homemade bread, high quality ingredients. The cookies are also absolutely phenomenal! Chocolate coconut. The bbq pork bahn mi is my go to. Great atmosphere, clean restaurant, perfect music

The name is Cali BÁNH MÌ = Vietnamese sandwich.I specifically asked for Vietnamese Bánh Mì, which should have the crunchy baguette. They gave me the softest, mushiest bread, which ruined the whole experience that I was looking forward to, even though the filling may be good, I couldn't tell since I was trying to reconcile the wrong combination of bread and filling. Amazingly how much of a disappointment that was. Unfortunately, I was in a hurry to dash out of there so I didn't discover the mushy bread until later. The vibe is very non- Asian, which didn't feel right to me. The menu may be innovative, but replacing the bread completely takes away the authenticity of the beloved food. If you are looking for an authentic experience, this is not it.

These guys rock! Great banh mi's and fried rice, service is good and prices are reasonable considering how expensive everything is now lol.

As someone who eats a lot of bahnmi i was shocked to find this place not be up to par. The bread wasn’t even cooked it was super soft like they didn’t want to turn the oven on. The chicken was dry and the sandwich lacked flavor. The location is super clean and beautiful and staff guy was nice but i look for more out of my sandwich. You don’t get a second chance at a first impression.

Great spot for Vietnamese Banh Mi! Inside decor is modern without being too trendy. There are plenty of tables for dine in. The menu offers a large variety of different Banh Mi options that should please everyone. I’m a traditionalist so I stick with the Dac Biet and I’m always full and happy. The size of the sandwiches are large without being giant. They also other entree items as well as boba drinks and teas. I’ve tried the bbq spring rolls and these things were huge with a ton of meat. You get two rolls along with some peanut dipping sauce; they were delicious! Overall good spot for lunch or breakfast with reasonable prices for delicious food.

Very decent ribeye banh mi. Texture and flavor was there, pillowy soft french roll. Viet coffee left a little to be desired but totally

It's okay. Banh Mi bread is supposed to be crunchy, the bread was soft like regular bread. The filling is quite decent and authentic for the most part. I would go somewhere else if you are looking for authentic banh mi.

I was eating a surf and turf bowl and found 2 grey hairs, I called and they said it was something off the bean sprouts but there were alot of bean sprouts and only 2 grey "bean sprout" hairs ? super disappointed because I love the food but since they didn't seem to care I will not be returning
