We were on vacation in San Diego and visited this restaurant. The atmosphere is wonderful, cozy, the view is beautiful. The sushi is very tasty. BUT… They brought us a bill in the end for more than $500, of which $100 was a tip, which I did not know about… As in normal establishments, no one brought a paper check before paying. everything through the terminal. Without noticing, I put what. publicity for 20% tips, which are included in the order amount, and then asks again if I want to leave a tip. That is, they take 2!!! glad tips. We went to talk to the manager, he said that he issued a cancellation of the tip and the money should be returned to the card. And no money was returned. Because the manager understands that we are passing through and no one will deal with him. So he simply deceived us. So be careful when paying!

An outstanding outdoor oceanfront sushi restaurant. Great food. Great ambiance. Great cocktails. You can dress casual since it's beachfront, or can dress up for stylish date night. Evenings have more dressy people than lunch time.

We tried 5 sushi rolls and only enjoyed one of them. We had reservations at 730pm, called at 6pm and asked if they could take us early. They said absolutely it’d be 30 mins.
So we waited an hour and a half, kept being told we were the next one to be called. We had multiple people show up without a reservation and got sat before us. Our server was great, but the food was not

Food is really great. Everything tastes fresh, well prepared, near perfectly seasoned. I even wanted to finish the wasabi, and I HATE wasabi.
The wait staff were polite, very helpful and accommodating. They were attentive, and responded promptly even when we tried not to be bothers to them.
And of course, the atmosphere was super cool, being open air and next to the beach from the second floor. Definitely sit shaded in the summertime, but otherwise it's gorgeous.
It's Japanese/sushi by the ocean, so expect the prices to reflect that, for sure. That being said, I didn't find the dollars spent unreasonable, considering.
If you come here, I highly recommend the Mango Sake (get the bottle!)

Disappointed
My experience tonight can overall be described as dissatisfying. The food here was actually very flavorful and well presented. However, the host seemed to value her conversation with the man working at the gym more than assisting me. I actually ended up sitting myself at the bar instead. The bar staff were also not very attentive but they were very friendly.

Sushi rolls were excellent and very good variety. Rolls are fresh and presented nicely. Service is also very good and rooftop dining gives a nice atmosphere with a view of the beach and ocean. Place was a bit loud, but otherwise nice dinner spot.

Food is good but the service is way too slow. Had to order the check and leave before they brought the complete order.
Service was just ok. But the food and view was amazing. Great place to watch the sunset
Wheelchair accessibility: Yes an elevator is great to get upstairs.

Great view and the food was really great! I didn't think you could get great sushi with an ocean view, but this place delivered! Excellent service as well.

*disclaimer: we did not eat here yet*
I made reservations about a week in advance and was looking forward to dining here. However, it rained the entire day of our reservation and since the restaurant is entirely outside, they had to cancel our reservation. The reason why I felt the need to leave a review about this is to warn future customers about booking on a day with poor weather but also to recognize the effort made to notify us that our reservation was canceled. Not only did I received an email, but they also called me to let me know which was nice because if I wouldn’t have checked my email, we wouldn’t have known! Anyway, just want to put it out there that the restaurant will be closed completely if it’s raining.

Made a reservation for 2 for dinner and they were able to seat us facing the ocean to watch the absolutely gorgeous sunset! Our waitress was so sweet and gave us recommendations for what to do in San Diego.
The rooftop dining area is very nice. I appreciated the heaters that they turn on after sunset to keep the open air area warm.
The food and sake were delicious. My friend and I both got sushi; the small rolls were a perfect size for me after having a bigger lunch and the eel and sea bass tasted very fresh. My friend got the red dragon specialty roll, and it was also very yummy!
The restaurant is perfectly located to walk along the beach before/after eating, or to explore the other activities in Belmont Park. I highly recommend eating here!

I'm just not a sushi person. I tried the miso soup and cucumber avocado roll with a lychee martini. My daughter had the tuna sensation which she enjoyed. Its just not for my pallet. I wish the martini wasn't so strong and had more lychee taste, but the service was amazing. The view spectacular overlooking the beach/ocean. I bet it's gorgeous come dusk or sunset.
