This review is solely related to Capital One’s banking service (specifically credit cards) and my overall experience with them so far.

I want to note that the ambassador I spoke with was nice, friendly, and understanding of my situation. However, my issue with my experience is the lack of authority he had to do anything about it.

I am a customer with a Quicksilver One card and a Savor card. When reviewing the cards I am pre-approved to upgrade, I see that I am only pre-approved to upgrade my Savor to Quicksilver—but not my Quicksilver One to Quicksilver. This makes no logical sense to me. My assumption, which I am unfortunately probably correct about, is that Capital One knows Quicksilver One is many people's first card. Since closing the account would impact their credit score more, Capital One likely avoids offering upgrades for it or deliberately holds out on them to force customers to keep paying the annual fee.

I have called the customer support line before, and it is clear to me that the representatives are cheap hires who can only provide information that is already available through the app. This is disappointing because I would like to speak to someone who can actually listen to my situation, understand how ridiculous it is, and bypass the automated approval process.

After my experience with mobile support, I went to a Capital One Café in hopes of speaking to someone with real authority. Instead, I spoke to an ambassador who, while nice and friendly, had even less authority than the mobile reps. The ambassador essentially offered to call the mobile support line with me, which resulted in the exact same phone call I would have had if I had called on my own. The only difference was that the ambassador was there to listen to the ridiculous situation I was in and witness Capital One’s money-grabbing tactics.

At the end of the day, I came to the conclusion that Capital One is a large corporation that has automated a system that prioritizes money over customer satisfaction. I closed my Quicksilver One card (which the ambassador couldn't help me with either) and plan to eventually close my Savor card as well. I will never bank with Capital One again.

I stopped by Verve Coffee at Capital One Café today and ordered a Cortado, while my mom had a regular latte. The café was packed with college students, and we had to settle for a side couch without a table. Their menu offers very limited options, which was a bit disappointing.

I wanted to take a photo of my drink, but a staff member stopped me, explaining that since it’s a bank, photography isn’t allowed. That was unexpected and took away from the experience.

As for the coffee, it was okay—not bad, but nothing special. Unfortunately, I believe they messed up my order. Since I’m breastfeeding, I always order decaf, but I felt unusually energized after drinking it. That night, I struggled to fall asleep, and my baby was also unusually alert, leading to a very difficult night.

Overall, the experience was frustrating. While the coffee itself wasn’t terrible, the crowded atmosphere, strict photo policy, and likely order mistake made it an unpleasant visit.

Went early at 10 am just when they open, was greeted nicely, paid my credit card, made a deposit to my account at the ATM machine and had some breakfast. The place looks nice and clean. I see some people complaining and giving bad reviews for petty stuff…just do what you gotta do and move on 😂

I recently had the pleasure of visiting the Capital One Cafe at the mall, and I must say, it was a delightful experience from start to finish! As someone who loves coffee, I was excited to finally check out Verve, and it did not disappoint.

First off, the atmosphere was inviting and cozy, making it a perfect spot to relax or catch up on some work. The modern decor combined with comfortable seating created a welcoming environment that I could easily see myself spending hours in.

Now, let’s talk about the coffee! I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the brew. I opted for a classic latte, and it was expertly crafted. The espresso was rich and flavorful, perfectly complemented by the creamy milk. You could tell they take their coffee seriously, and it showed in every sip. I also appreciated the variety of options available, from single-origin pour-overs to seasonal specialties.

The service was another highlight of my visit. The barista was friendly and knowledgeable, taking the time to explain the different coffee options and even making recommendations based on my preferences. Even though I didn’t have my physical Capital One card on me, I was relieved to find that I could use my digital wallet for payment. It was a seamless transaction, which made my experience even better.

Overall, my visit to Verve at Capital One Coffee Roasters was a fantastic one. Great coffee, excellent service, and a lovely atmosphere make it a must-visit spot in the mall. I can’t wait to return and try more of their offerings. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for a quality coffee experience!

I asked for decaf americano but the barista gave me normal americano at 7 pm. I have never had that happen in any café ever. Extremely disappointing.

After having great experiences at multiple Capital One Cafés in New York, I was excited to visit the La Jolla location. Unfortunately, I was disappointed to find they use an automatic coffee machine instead of a proper espresso machine. Honestly, I might as well be making the coffee myself by just pushing a button. On top of that, the cappuccino here is $0.50 more, and the chocolate croissant is $1.05 more expensive. I understand we’re in California, but New York isn’t exactly cheaper—and you can’t compare a shop on Broadway to one in a shopping mall. Also, unlike the NYC locations, there wasn’t even water available.

Another downside is that there’s no restroom inside, so make sure you take care of that before or after your visit.

Overall, not what I expected from Capital One Café.

Absolutely worthless. Would rate zero if I could. There's zero bank help. All it is is an atm

Nice place to study if you can find a table. Not too loud, but definitely not quiet either. There are plenty of outlets to charge. The only con was that I ordered a matcha latte and it tasted horrible. Not sure if this is a one-off thing but I won't be ordering it again. Sadly they discontinued the $1 per drink Wednesday promo for UCSD / SDSU students -- this made ordering worth it because the quality of drinks here is pretty low imo.

I've tried studying at the capital one cafe but admittedly the atmosphere isn't great. If you're looking for a cute comfy cafe to study in, this is not it. It has a very sterile feel to it. It doesn't feel welcoming, especially with staff members constantly walking around and hovering over you. It's also pretty loud, so it can be hard to focus. However, it's open later than Geisel on the summer weekends and it has a lot of outlets.

The matcha they made for me was not very good, I don't recommend. There is also no bathroom at the cafe.

Awesome place. Love it here. Drinks are excellent for the price. Half off with Capital One card. Lot's of sitting area to work on laptops and special rooms 'nooks' you can reserve. Lots of outlets to charge, quiet, nice atmosphere.

I got a cortado for about $4. The coffee was better than the average cafe coffee enough, but about what you expect.

Seems to be more of a grab and go cafe, although I did see them have some Capital One promo stuff and beanbag throwing, just not in use for when I went (at about 11am).
