My sister-in-law and I had the best time and we loved our waiter.

Food was really bad. It came out pretty much instantly after we placed our order, which was a red flag.
We ordered the mar y tierra. It was really bad, even the rice tasted like it was a few days old. There was zero sear on the tiny grey steak. The shrimp was extremely salty and just tasted like bacon only.
The margaritas were not good at all, they were very small and had zero tequila in them.
Service was a mixed bag. We sat for a long time without any service at all, not even water. The table seated after us got served before we did. We eventually got a good server after they switched several times.
Interestingly enough, the atmosphere was actually pretty great with a live band and great decorations.

No pride in the food! The rolled tacos are the worst. This dish is so simple and they can't even pull that off. They're fake and Frozen and have no meat in them. It's all rolled up tortilla with the tiny string of meat. For almost $20!? All a rip off. The audacity. The menu is not good either. Not much to choose from. The quality of food is not 100% authentic. No efforts. It's a shame because you make tourists think THIS is Mexican food but it's actually not.
Parking: Old Town needs more parking availability.
Omgosh, this place is amazing. There were 5 of us that came to dinner, and I don't think anyone had a bad meal. I had the steak fajitas and shared them with my friend. The rice and beans were very good, as was the steak. The place looks like a little town in Mexico. They have little stores there. We walked in and heard the band playing. Also, it feels like you're inside, but you're not it has an open roof. They have big outdoor heaters everywhere. I would highly recommend this place, and if I'm ever in town, I will definitely go back.

A small wire came out in my food, they immediately changed my plate but I still didn't eat with confidence even though they were very kind

They should improve the flavor of the food, they call it American-style Mexican food but in reality they should reduce the seasoning of the meats for a better flavor. It's very rough but it's not good. I ordered a tampiquena and the enchilada was gratin with American cheeses and the taste was very bad :( I was disappointed because the place is very nice. It's not worth it as a Mexican

Went all out for the Day of the Dead! Highly recommend visiting, but not on the actual celebration ( Nov 1 -3) as it's too busy . Go the day after the celebration and enjoy the beautiful Mexican traditional displays.. and of course, delicious Mexican food!

A little overpriced but makes sense since it's a "tourist" spot. Our server was super nice and friendly. Drinks are small. Food was hot and delicious.

The staff attention is VERY POOR, the waitress is the typical Mexican who works in a Mexican restaurant in SAN DIEGO and she tells you that she does not speak or understand Spanish, and that incredibly happens VERY FREQUENTLY in California, I have been to many cities in the United States and practically always has at least the will to understand you, in California curiously the "Mexicans" and their descendants are the least helpful.
And I expected much more from the flavor of the dishes, I ordered enchiladas and it was a disappointment
