We stopped by a famer's market on a random Sunday afternoon in La Jolla and stumbled upon this food vendor making incredible looking food that made our mouths water, so naturally, we had to give them a try! They have an all-vegetarian menu which is what initially drew my Husband and I over to their tent, and when we saw the grill master cooking up some good eats, we knew we made a good choice! We ordered the chilaquiles to share, they come topped with soyrizo (plant based chorizo) and the red ranchero sauce and were the perfect amount for sharing. They were one of the most delicious chilaquiles we had ever tried, I definitely recommend giving this business a try!

Casa Ocho is a hidden gem of Old Town, located in the back patio of Flor & Seed coffee shop. You'll have to walk through the coffee shop to get to the patio. There were two small tables and chairs set up, but since it was so hot outside that day, we opted to eat indoors in Flor & Seed instead (we also got coffee while we were here -- the coffee was delicious!)The menu was limited, but everything sounded good. We ended up getting the Chilaquiles Con Madre (Chilaquiles rojos), which came with tortilla chips, soyrizo, tomato sauce, cotija cheese, sour cream, cilantro, and chipotle aioli. We also got a fried egg on top.I wasn't expecting too much from a farmer's market-style tent booth set up in a back patio, but the chilaquiles ended up blowing me out of the water. The tortilla chips were delightfully crispy, with the perfect crunch to every bite; the savory creamy flavors blended well together, with just enough mild spice for a gentle kick. (For those desiring more spice, they also include green sauce in a separate container that has a much stronger kick to it.)We also got a complimentary mazapan (peanut sugar) candy for a sweet dessert. Super nice staff too. Be sure to check this place out if you're in the area!

I didn't realize that Casa Ocho only serves vegetarian food when I arrived. They are located in the back patio of Flora and Seed and there is just one table available for seating. They offer tortas, chilaquiles, and quesadillas. It looks like they added avocado toast to the menu now! They ran out the first time I tried to go, so I went earlier and was surprised that it wasn't very busy. I ordered La Torta Del Barrio and Chilaquiles Con Madre. Both items were made fresh to order. The torta del barrio came with a quesadilla on top! I asked how they came up with this idea and she told me that a customer actually thought of it when they started out at the local farmer's market. This was a really flavorful and heavy sandwich! I also enjoyed the chilaquiles, although it was a bit oily. I didn't tell my hubby that they didn't use real meat and he didn't even notice haha! They also give you a complimentary Mazapan with your meal and there are shirts and other merchandise for sale. I will definitely come back when I want something hearty and delicious!

Casa Ocho has their own spot in the back patio of Flor and Seed in Old Town San Diego! Perfect place to get your mexagrub on with your morning coffee from Flor and Seed. You can choose from their tortas, quesadillas, and chilaquiles, which is an all-vegetarian menu! Everything is delicious, but I highly recommend the La Torta del Barrio because there is chilaquiles inside the torta and cheese quesadilla on top! You get a really filling meal which is perfect because it includes everything they offer. They have amazing customer service and are very welcoming! I love their outdoor set-up and you can see them making your meals! Definitely a must-try!

Now located on the back patio of @florandseed in #oldtownsandiego , Casa Ocho is serving up street-style #mexagrub Thurs-Mon from 7am till sold out. They're still at the La Jolla farmers market too so check out their insta and website for updated schedules. Their menu is simple - chilaquiles, tortas, & quesadillas. Their Torta del Barrio combines all 3! Chef Chris takes their delicious soft telera bread and stuffs it with chilaquiles, refried beans, monterrey jack cheese and soyrizo. Then he tops it with a soyrizo quesadilla! The combination of the spicy red sauce and creamy house made cilantro crema & chipotle aioli with the different textures was like a happy dance in our mouths We also shared an order of chilaquiles on their own and we're obsessed. So much flavor! We love what they're doing here, bringing unique #vegetarian flavors to the #mexicanfood scene. We will be back for more!

Casa Ocho just had their grand opening in Old Town and we were invited to come try their food. The owners are an engaged couple and are sooo nice and kind and friendly. The chilaquiles were delicious they came with corn tortillas, red sauce, sour cream, cotija cheese, soyrizo avocado and was just perfection. We also ordered the Chilaquiles con madre plate which is the chilaquiles inside tellera roll and a quesadilla on top! I really loved everything here and can't wait to go back!

Casa Ocho is a food vendor that is certainly putting a twist on Avocado Toast and a number of established popular Mexican Food items. I have ordered their food several times at the La Jolla Open Aire Market on Sundays, but they can also be found at the Oceanside Morning Farmers' Market and Oceanside Sunset Market both on Thursdays. I have had the Mexican Avocado Toast, La Torta Torta de Ocho, Soyrizo Quesadillas, and the Chilaquiles con Madre Plate. Let's just say I had a huge smile on my face after each item. However, my favorites were the Soy Quesadillas. They were done perfectly with beautiful melted and griddled cheese, flavor soy chorizo, and a terrific corn tortillas. The soyrizo quesadillas came with a side of delicious refried beans and a dollop of tasty guacamole. The chilaquiles tortas was delicious. The best part of the torta was biting into the crunchy zesty tortilla chips smothered in a delicious red sauce with a hint of spice. The Chilaquiles con Madre come loaded with a lot of extra goodies like fried corn tortillas, a spicy red sauce, sour cream, Cotija cheese, soyrizo, cilantro, avocado, and a drizzle of a chipotle mayo. It was a heaping serving of pure deliciousness! The Mexcian Avocado Toast was very good and comes served on a Telera Roll. You can choose from the OG Avocado Toast or the "Primo." Check out their menu for the difference of ingredients. The husband and wife team are super nice and friendly. If you are lucky, sometimes they offer Cafe de la Olla! Although, they move around to different Farmers' Markets, I put the La Jolla Open Aire Market address.
