Went for brunch, I had salad and labneh with pita bread. This pink lettuce and guava salad is a feast for both the palate and the eyes. Loved it! ❤️ The labneh tho, can be a watery compared to the labneh I had previously.

My friend and I came here this past Friday right at 4:00 opening. The staff, Andres & Daniel were so nice and shared much info about the restaurant as it was our first time. The food was amazing. We shared the dips, and olives, and my favorite was the scallops. I can't wait to come back soon!

My husband and I are big foodies and love this restaurant! We have been a couple of times now and every time is equally as amazing. Incredible food, good wine list, and a great atmosphere. A much needed restaurant in the University Heights/Hillcrest area.

Cellar Hand is a great addition to the Fabulous Hillcrest culinary roster. Executive Manager Warren is a gem that we have enjoyed for years during his tenure as EM at Pali Neighborhood Winery in Little Italy and now here at Cellar Hand. If you haven’t checked it out yet, run don’t walk. You’ll thank me

Super fresh, delicious, and local ingredients. Unique flavor combinations and dishes (loved the carrots). The staff was lovely. Overall, the prices were about what I’d expect for the ingredients and quality. The only thing that was very overpriced and candidly a bit ridiculous is $5 for a single additional pita. You need more than the one provided for the dips and to spend $5 on one pita is just too much (even if they’re homemade).

A little expensive but very good and interesting cuisine. Bread and house made ritz crackers were surprising stand outs. Pitas were a little disappointing (too flat). Hyperlocal concept is a little reminiscent of a Portlandia skit but they don’t take themselves too seriously, so it is fun. Veggies were amazing. Service is unrushed, so great for the right occasion. Will be back.

I liked the ambiance and the service was friendly. It’s a welcome addition to Hillcrest which traditionally isn’t a destination for high end dining. I found the portions to be extremely small. We ordered several appetizers and entrees and still left hungry. Based on this, I wouldn’t return.

Cellar Hand: A Delightful Surprise in Hillcrest
Cellar Hand is a refreshing addition to Hillcrest, boasting a beautifully remodeled space with a pleasant atmosphere. The Mediterranean-inspired menu took some adjusting, but the gracious staff explained each dish in detail, making the experience enjoyable.
We started with the carrots—spicy and full of bold flavor. The rockfish was the highlight—cooked to perfection, bursting with flavor. The pork chop, while robust in flavor, was overcooked past medium. We would have preferred medium or medium-light, and while it had quite a bit of fat, some may enjoy this, but others may not.
The food is a bit pricey, with our meal for two coming to $150 (including wine). However, the excellent wine selection made it worth the splurge. Overall, we loved the food and will definitely return. A must-visit for wine and food lovers!

From service, to food, to ambiance, to wine selection, Cellar Hand exceeds expectations. Every bite of food was absolutely phenomenal. The bartender was very knowledgeable and intentional in his service. We ordered a ton of food that was courses out perfectly. The wine list has something for all and hits a variety of price points. Desert was very unique and lovely as well. Oh and they had some very cool daily specials. Absolutely a must try but you'll be hooked. This is an excellent addition to Hillcrest.

My husband and I are huge foodies and when we heard about this place we had to try it. Everything was absolutely excellent. I was really impressed with the wine list. The conservas were amazing. I also loved the pita and labneh. The seabass was so light and pillowy but also so flavorful. The stuffed squash flowers were an absolute standout. But by far the dish we reminisce about the most is the fried babka with tahina ice cream - that dessert is what I would want for a last meal. I’m going to dream about that dessert forever. It was life-altering. Overall, 10/10 experience, highly recommend. They’re going to be a new hotspot in the University Heights/Hillcrest area for sure.

4 of us came here for brunch and had a wonderful time.
First of all, the space is large and nicely mixed indoor / outdoor. We sat at a table right by the outside, but with shade.
The service was good to great. I would say, there is room for improvement, but not anything egregious. It took a bit for our waitress to come to us and we wanted to order an app and coffee, but she quickly left after bringing water and didn't introduce herself, and asked if we wanted anything but left before we answered.
The food was fantastic. Two of us ordered the basic breakfast, which comes with 2 eggs with delicious pork belly bacon and crispy potatoes, with two slices of thick bread and blackberry jam. Very good.
My husband ordered the shakshuka, which was very good also.
Our other friend got the dark chocolate babka - comes with a sauce on it, which should just be on the side.
The babaganoush app was fantastic - definitely get that!
Plan to spend $25-30 per person.
Vegetarian options: Baba ganoush app and babka were great
