I stopped here for a drink before my dinner reservations and all I can say was the service was not great. Everything was over shadowed by the service, the drink was ok and the fries were good. The ambiance was just ok.

We had time between meetings to grab something quick but good. We decided on Cerveza Jack's in the Gaslamp area. Great choice.The service from Emily was fantastic, friendly, and swift. We ordered our food and got started with the smoked wings. Very tasty, tender, and good!The fish tacos were plentiful, as I have seen these be done on the cheap side, but here, it was nice and healthy and had great flavor to it. The chicken sandwiches were great, flavorful, and nice serving, and would recommend them again.The place gets very busy during lunch, so plan around that and happy hour. Great place to chill out and have a nice meal.

We chose this restaurant as we wandered down 5th Ave and it had outdoor seating and we needed a break from tacos. What a find! Delicious comfort food with big portions at a decent price . Cocktails were great and the fries were amazing! Definitely have the wings (sauce on the side) and the burger, fried fish, shrimp n grits!! Really good!

We went two afternoons ago where we had a server called Jeff who could not be more accomodating, he is truly a credit to your business. That made it an easy decision for us to go back today.Unfortunately today’s server seemed annoyed to have to serve us and made us feel uncomfortable and apologetic to even be in the restaurant. There were more staff than patrons and she behaved like she was so put out to have to serve us.This culminated in us being over charged and when questioned it was clear she knew we’d been over charged. As we overseas tourists I’m guessing she assumed we either wouldn’t tip (and the over charge would cover that) or wouldn’t notice. For the record we tipped 25% on Wednesday and 20% today even though she in no way earnt it. She kept her tip based on the over charge and apparently we will be reimbursed when they close out at the end of the night even though the higher charge is currently on our credit card.So disappointing as the food is delicious and the location fabulous but I can’t tell you the last time I’ve felt so uncomfortable or unwelcome in a restaurant.

WONDERFUL Hush Puppies, Anybody?Well, that's what we were served this past weekend at the Taste of the Gaslamp 2023, and they were absolutely pretty good.In addition, they had street seating, with a disabled ramp which was nice!!!

We game here the other day before a concert, and I'm glad we did! The vibe was really great indoors and outdoors, the servers were knowledgeable and friendly. The drinks were good. Note: they only offer their margaritas on the rocks, they don't serve blended-I asked. :( I didn't try the pulled pork sandwich, but I was told it was good! I did try the fries, though and the ranch was homemade, you could tell. Super yummy!

This place is super nice. It's in a busy area. Parking isn't the best. It's downtown. My friend and I ordered a salad, the sone fruit one, and the bacon lettuce and fried green tomato. The chefs split it up for us. Definitely didn't expect it. Most places won't split the food for you so that was super refreshing. The salsa was on point! The halved peaches were grilled so they had more of a sweetness to them. There was also fried pimento balls. So so good. I got the champagne dressing that came with it. Super good. Great with the fries. My friend got the cilantro buttermilk ranch. It wasn't bad. The BLT had some great bacon. The fried tomato wasn't really that good and I took it off. Wish it had more mayonnaise on it. The bacon was a lot and it was super thick. The fries were cold and floppy. Super unsatisfying.

I arrived around 1 PM. on Friday afternoon for a late lunch. I was greeted cheerfully and seated inside. I was the only patron in the restaurant at this time. As I perused the menu, I noticed 3 employees chatting at a nearby table. After about 5 minutes, one of them came over, greeted me, and asked for my drink order. By then, I had my lunch order ready. I ordered the fish and chips - extra crispy. An ice water was brought over soon thereafter. Another member of the staff brought my lunch order, and to their credit, it was extra crispy as requested. The dish was delicious. However, at no point did the waitress come over to check on how it was. In fact, I had to flag another employee to get her to bring me some extra vinegar for the fried fish. After finishing the meal, I had to signal the person behind the bar to request my check, which the waitress brought over. The service was friendly but detached.

I can't believe I haven't written a review on one of my favorite spots in Gaslamp! Shame on me!Much friendlier service than at the place across the way who left us out in the blazing heat with a wobbly table that the utensils kept rolling off. The host over there was rude and barked that if we didn't stay close by when our table was ready, she would give it away. Got it, sister...we'll give it away for you. But I digress.Instead of subjecting ourselves to her abuse, we made our way directly across to Cerveza Jack's and proceeded to have a grand old time there instead. Ended up eating there 3 days straight for lunch during SDCC 2023. Because I am a huge nerdy cosplayer, I wore my Mandalorian cosplay and was thrilled to see all of the workers in Star Wars gear, playing Star Wars music/movies and even had a Star Wars themed menu. SCORE! I really loved the Aloha Akbar with peanut butter whiskey and ended up making that my cocktail of choice during our time at SDCC.Yes, it gets packed, but I believe we only waited anywhere from 20-30 minutes even with the massive crowds that swarmed the area. We usually get the Shrimp Grits which is my fave. They put an ample amount of shrimp in there and the flavor is always good. The hubby enjoyed their Fried Chicken Sandwich as well as their burgers and fries. On the 3rd day we chowed down on a mountain of their chicken wings which were crispy and delish! Service was awesome and so much fun despite the chaos of the crowd. Gotta love folks who clearly enjoy their jobs and hanging out with their co-workers. Definitely our go-to spot during Comic-Con or when in Gaslamp. Thank you Cerveza Jack's!

Chicken Sandwich. - it was okay. I actually couldn't find the flavor profile beyond the sauce. Kids tenders were just that, tenders. Each meal came with a small order of fries. Overall, decent service and wait time given ComicCon. However I wasn't impressed enough to return. Is this just another case of the Gaslamp?!

Ended up at this bar for drink while walking through Gaslamp area. Pretty busy as it should for a Friday night but we were able to find seating at the bar. I bartender Taylor was awesome and ensured we were taken care of. Our drinks were perfect the entire time we were there and our food came out perfect too. We only order chicken wings and the were crispy just how we wanted them. She made me a drink that i dont know what the name of it was but it was good. I simply said I need it strong and with tequila and she went to work. Lighting was perfect and could still see around the establishment even though it was dark out. If Taylor is working the bar I’d definitely come back again!

Even with the huge crowd from SDCC we only waited 30 minutes for our table.The service from Tanner was top notch. Very attentive and accommodating.We got the starter wings and main entree beef burgers 5/5. My burger was cooked to the perfect medium and the the juice was flowing! We will definitely be back!
