Searches for a bubble tea place and was hungry for dim sum food and just arrived in La Jolla and did a Yelp! Search. Decided to try this food court as it was highly rated and when we drove over did it know it was inside an 99 Ranch Market and nearby Target. We were so excited because we're down the east coast and only just got a 99 Ranch about 20 minutes away we haven't yet visited. The service is excellent - friendly and quick. Enjoyed our roast pork buns and dumplings and teas!

Very yummy. I usually go here when I come to 99 ranch after grocery shopping. Always hit the spot.

I rather go here for takeout than any other! We're hooked. The gentleman that took our order was friendly and helpful. I couldn't remember what I ate the last time, but once I described it, he knew. It was the Singapore style noodles that came with shrimp, beef, and veggies. My son got the salt and pepper wings, and I had to try them. They were delicious! Crispy! We also got the orange chicken. Highly recommend.

Ordered pan fried pork and vegetable buns (6 for $9.99) via UberEats for in person pick up.Order and pickup process was smooth. Young man manning the counter was polite and friendly.Took about 20 minutes for piping hot buns to come out. The buns were soft, fluffy, and moist inside. No crisp. Overall the buns weren't bad, but also not amazing.

We went lobster fishing and found Cha Cha would cook our catch. Being from out of town with no access to a kitchen, this was a godsend. The owner was super nice and helpful and provided us with a variety of condiments to accompany our meal.

As long as you can say it, basically anything can't be done.

Long story short. I was sent there by a fellow "vegan" BHA (Big Hungry A$$) as he had did the covert "Intel" visit and got their salt and pepper tofu. We usually work in tandem, one BHA does the first taste and then passes the word down the line via secure SATCOM phones as not to tip off the establiment that a BHA has visited and a 2nd one cometh!! LOL!!! As BHA's we're always looking for that next spot as you can't never have too many good "vegan" plugs on deck. To paraphrase a quote from "Stevie", Kenny Power's abused sidekick as he barked it from atop of the porcelain thrown in the Mexcian prison "...this $**t right here shouldn't be happening..."--albeit he wasn't referencing the salt and pepper tofu, but the verbiage fits so you gotta acquit!! I said all that to say they ain't touching Golden Chopsticks' in Mira Mesa salt and pepper tofu. For starters the portion for price is ridiculous added the surchage for the to go container drops Cha Cha's salt and pepper tofu down to low end and only to re-ordered if Golden Chopsticks when outta business. Still I'd have to give Royal Mandarin another shot before I succomb to Cha Cha's valid attempt at salt and pepper tofu,Now to the actual hand to mouth review. 1st the large portion of steamed rice that came with the salt and pepper entre was more enough to create a decent portion fried rice once you added some veggie, vegan fish sauce, mushrooms, etc. So on the rice they get a 5 outta 5. But alas this review ain't about their rice. Back to the tofu. Their attempt to alleviate losing the crunch from steam that hot food emits via the holes in the to go container did nothing to save them. As after I made it home to dig in the tofu was super soft and any crunch that was there was long gone. Also the portion of green onions, fried garlic and red peppers barely covered the tofu nuggets. As far the tofu used, it was silken or its soft equivalent. Overall flavor was missing, to include the saltiness. Again, the limited green onions, garlic and peppers didn't lend enough assistance to garner any level off flavorfulness from the salt and pepper tofu. So unless they make a visit to their across town salt and pepper tofu comp, and step up the flavor and green onions, I see no reason to return to Cha Cha for their only vegan offering I found.

One of my favorite spots for some comfort food. Beef chow fun and the shu mai make me a happy boy. I'd also get the spicy fish/beef boil every now and then which are both pretty nice. The only disappointment I've ever gotten here was the wonton noodles/soup since it's not very authentic or not what I was used to getting back at home.. anyways I like this place so much that I went through a phase I ordered from here once a week. People that work here are also very friendly.

I was lured by a review picture and ordered Kung Pao Chicken for take out. Thanks the chefs consideration and replaced most of chicken meat with white onions. That is so healthy and I can still image I was eating white meat. But be careful when you place the same order if you are not an onion lover.

Yum! I wanted to try a variety of things so I ordered Mapo Tofu, xiao long bao, pork and vegetable buns, bok choy, lotus chicken sticky rice, tear and eat scallion pancake, and papaya smoothie w/lychee popping boba. The smoothie was *perfect*. Just the right amount of sweetness (which you can customize) and they even gave me a small cup of what was left from the blender! My favorite food item was the pork and vegetable buns. The bun itself was so soft and fresh and the filling was super flavorful. The tear and eat scallion pancake was the perfect texture and flavor. Second favorite item. The bok choy was amazing - seasoned beautifully but maybe a little tiny bit overcooked for my preference. The Xiao long bao were super tasty too - not top-tier but will definitely satisfy when I get a soup dumpling craving! The lotus chicken sticky rice was really good. The lotus leaf added a nice herbal flavor to the dish with the tangy flavor of the rice (due to the small amount of vinegar) and saltiness of the chicken. Also, the staff was super kind and friendly. I usually don't factor that part into my reviews because my focus is the food, but they really made a really kind-hearted impression Overall, really happy

The worst Chinese dining experience that I have had. We ordered pan fried pork bun and spicy garlic pork, none of them are satisfied. This place is expensive as well. Feel like there are better choices with the price

I had no idea this would be so good. It's located inside the food court of 99 Ranch. It tastes like east coast Chinese food. We ordered stir fried cabbage, salt and pepper fish and beef chow fun. Everything was fresh and delicious. There is a huge free parking lot so parking it not a problem.

Don't order drinks from this place even though it's called Tea Spot. Not sure why or it's a rare situation, but they will wait until nobody is around to put order to start making your drinks. And the lady has a really weird/bad attitude. When all my other orders from other places are ready, they even haven't started making my drinks. She only started when I walked back and stood right in front of the booth. Also, the drink itself doesn't taste good. It's overly sweet. So regret for spending this money.

I really wanted some rice porridge and some Chinese groceries so this place was perfect as it's in the food court inside Ranch 99. The pork and preserved egg porridge was good- large portion and tasted exactly like I expected. My kids got a fried rice to share which they devoured. Solid place to stop by when grocery shopping.
