I had my first Chef Budda experience this past Sunday and let me tell you, I'm EXCITED about going back! First off, the customer service was amazing! I felt like family the whole time. And the food was very on point! The wings were juicy and crispy, and very seasoned. I said seasoned, not salty. There IS a difference. Lol. The rice and gravy was soulful and seasoned to perfection, but that MAC AND CHEESE! It put me in a food coma! So cheesy and delicious. I'll definitely be going back again and again! I HIGHLY suggest everybody trying them out, but I also suggest getting there early cause them delicious sides run out fast!

Honestly, ima give this spot a solid 3. The chicken and the catfish was cooked well. The sides were a hot ass mess. The Mac and cheese tasted like cheese, noodles and milk. The collard greens were too bitter and the after taste was strong. The rice and gravy was basically just under seasoned flour gravy over rice. The koolaid was definitely not koolaid and tasted more like syrup water. Given the high price range for the combos I didn’t expected the quantity and quality to be so subpar. They had good vibes tho.

1.5 stars for the food
Besides the food I seen the worker/owner act really rude to a delivery driver for absolutely no reason as I was waiting for my order. SKIP THIS

Good food but please respond to me ! I ordered close to you guys closing time last week and could not make the new pick up time!
Was told i’d get a refund but have not been contacted since nor have i heard anything back
Super disappointing bc the food is Seriously Great! I went once last week on a trip to san diego and decided to go again before departing but again couldn’t make my pick up time and wasn’t notified that i’d have to do a later pick up so a refund was agreed on
But still nothing unfortunately

Went there drove 1 hr to get there because on google they said open until 7 pm which was false. Then I thought since this was black owned they would have black staff but they had Asian cooking the food . I expected more but I was letting down we need more black owned restaurants and good food in San Diego that what we are missing

They always claim to be open but the truck is never anywhere to be found. The foods good if you ever even get a chance to try it with how flaky and unprofessionally its ran.

Spent near 100 to get rude service. Really needs to work on customer service skills because the attitude was crazy considering the money that I spent. Food is whatever and okay. Overpriced. Won't be back.

Absolutely love this food truck. Seriously amazing food! Love the cauliflower as it is perfectly breaded with great flavors. The Cajun friend are also a go to as is the Mac and cheese. Honestly can’t go wrong with anything. We see them at the Chula Vista Amphitheater for concerts a lot and they are our go to truck. Also the blue lemonade is amazing. It is sweet but not over the top sweet. Such a refreshing drink. The staff is always friendly and always smiling.

Just want everyone to know that the food is so good. I met them at this year's San Diego Pride, and I had the chicken strips and collard greens, soo good. Come to find out the restaurant is down the street from my house. What you know I'm going to be there all the time. It taste like home, and they are so friendly. Honestly they are the best.

My husband and I vacationed for our wedding anniversary in the beautiful San Diego, California. Upon visiting, we made it our business to find a Soul Food restaurant there. Upon visiting, we checked out different restaurants and came across Chef Budda Blasian Soul Food. The menu in itself was enticing enough. With great anticipation, we drove to their Food Truck, which is located in San Diego. Once there, he and his wife were amazing. He kindly assisted with our menu choices and answered any questions we had. Let me say this to you: This food did not disappoint. The fried catfish was fried to the heavens! Crispy, yet flavorful and tender on the inside. The candid yams rocked my entire world; they were delicious (My Granny would be proud!!) The greens—OMG! Coming from the South, I expected the same greens style, but oh no, Chef Budda greens had a unique taste that made me analyze the seasonings in great detail: The Mac & Cheese — Sweet Baby Jesus!!! The fried chicken! Was Amazing!
Again, my Granny would be proud. Everything was tender as a Mother’s Love!
Til next time!

I had the opportunity of visiting San Diego, Ca. A few weeks ago and while there I had to check out their soul food. Even though the west coast is more known for their Seafood and Mexican food. This food place definitely made my southern taste buds go crazy. There were only 2 qualms I had with this establishment. #1 it was hard to find, The location was different from what is advertised online so I had to find them on social media in order to find where they were set up. #2 I wish they had more of a selection. Not sure if it was just the day I decided to go there but they didn’t really have much to pick from but still with that being said quality over quantity any day. And quantity was %100. I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in town. And let’s not forget the tunes, they had the area jumping, playing good quality music while they cook and people wait for their food.
