Delighted to discover this gem in Bay Ho/Bay Park in San Diego. Love the vibe, excellent service, and the food is great! I went with chef's choice, but the small portion, "Jun Kun". It came with edamame and miso soup, followed by 4 pieces of delicious sashimi (halibut, amberjack, salmon, and red snapper). Then came along 3 beautiful pieces of nigiri, salmon belly with ikura on top, yellowtail belly, and chutoro with caviar. Finished it off with a blue crab hand roll. There was craftsmanship and care in the preparation and the fish tasted amazing and so fresh.Excited to come back and try more on the menu!

This place is a local treasure. Tucked away in an older bayho strip mall, one would never imagine a restaurant of this caliber would be located off Morena Blvd on your way to Costco. The owner also did a great job with the interior. We have been here with a large party of 12 and a smaller party of four and each time the food and service did not disappoint! It seems to always get packed after 6. Try the salmon Oshi for a special treat!

We ate here for the first time tonight. Service was great, atmosphere was great (minus a screaming baby). The food was incredible. The Salmon Oshi was one of the best food items I've ever eaten, anywhere! The Tuna Tataki was also fantastic, well presented and very flavorful. The pricing was fair for the quality and the portions were good. We ended up at $124.00 for 2 people before tip, but that included 2 appetizers, 3 rolls and 2 orders of the Oshi. I'd highly recommend checking them out. Well worth it!

I traveled to San Diego with my family and tried many restaurants, but Chef Jun was the best. Of course, many famous restaurants in San Diego were delicious, but I still can't forget the omakase I had at Chef Jun's.The restaurant was crowded, but everyone was friendly, and most importantly, the food tasted like the best sushi my husband and I have ever had in our lives. The sushi was incredibly soft, and the taste was extraordinary, likely due to Chef Jun's special aging method. The atmosphere of the restaurant was sophisticated and cozy.It was so delicious that I ate it all without even taking a few pictures, but next time I visit San Diego, I will definitely go to Chef Jun again.

WOW! Such an experience! Came here last night for Valentine’s Day. This place looks better in person, than it does in pictures. Service was phenomenal. Our server had many tables, yet still checked up on us multiple times. His knowledge about what’s on the menu, and the way he described them were so accurate, He recommended the Salmon Oshi, as well as many other dishes. However that was by far my favorite item. Service overall probably was the best service I’ve had from any other restaurant. Food was excellent, the starters, ramen, sushi, sashimi. Very great restaurant to go and try, I will definitely plan another visit!

Delicious food! Service was attentive and professional. I feel like the owner has invested a great amount in the hiring of her staff and quality of cuisine. It is quickly becoming a favorite dinner spot for me and my Fiance. My only critique is the lighting, I wish it was a bit more dim/romantic/cozy. Despite the cool interior the bright lights make it feel more like a Denny’s, add real candle light and dim the overheads to match the nice music, and 5 stars all around!!

Hands down the best spot in San Diego to get sashimi and omakase. They deserve more hype! Huge plus that it also has a pet-friendly patio where staff will bring your pup water and even treats sometimes! I've been here twice and was thoroughly impressed both times. The price is great for the quality of sashimi and it's paired with amazing service and hospitality all around Their specials are inexpensive for a lot of food!

Second time dining here was the other night for my friend's birthday. When I made the reservation a week earlier, I specified it was for her birthday; and they remembered and gave complimentary mochi ice cream on a candle. Service was great; the server was nice. The Spicy Tuna Cracker was alright. Their sushi is fresh; but the Bluefin Tuna Belly (Toro) Nigiri wasn't as good as I was expecting... it tasted more like regular tuna and not as fatty/melt in your mouth. The Salmon Skin Handroll was good. Would return.

love this place! It's right down the street from our house and it's definitely a hole in the wall. The service is always great! Food is amazing! I recommend the salmon oshi! Good price point for service and quality of food. The fish doesn't taste as fresh consistently, but most of the time, it's good!

The food didn't hit the mark for me. Others may like it but it was underwhelming for my tastes. Don't think I'll be coming back, too bad, because it has a nice vibe and the staff was very friendly.Parking: Small lot
