I mistakenly selected one star. Doesn't event deserve it! I've had Chinese food everywhere from NYC to FLORIDA to LA and eaten in some of the worst hoods and I've never had food this horrible! I had ordered salt and pepper wings and the wings were tasteless and there also drowned in Asian five spice! The house fried rice was also tasteless. This place wrecked wings and fried rice! How is that possible?!?! Future people don't waste your time! Go to McDonalds!! This place should be shut down! Seriously shut down!!! Waste of money!!!!!!

This place is truly terrible. I have never had to throw food away after a few bites, but everything we ordered was bad. The egg drop soup tasted like pure corn starch. The meat in the dishes tasted rotten. I'm asian and I want to support my people, but this was just so, so bad.

Been coming to this restaurant for several years now. Although we have a few other Chinese restaurants closer to home, the extra drive is definitely worth it. Conveniently located right off the 56. When you call in for a take-out order, food's usually ready by the time I arrive (~20 mins). So far every dish is good. Haven't had one we didn't like. Service is wonderful. Kudos to their quality control. In fact, this is one place that I don't feel the need to double check that everything I ordered is packed up. They always get it right.

OMG!!!! I normally post at GrubHub first but I couldn't wait. I have been a satisfied customer for over 5 years and l keep coming back for the most delicious Chinese food in San Diego. Their House fried rice and BBQ pork is plenty and mouth watering and l just tried their Walnut Shrimp for the first time and it is to die for. I always get extra juicy shrimp added to my fried rice. Their food is worth driving to or a delivery order. The best guaranteed!!! You deserve the best!!!

This place serves a lot of food, slightly on a expensive side. I like this Chinese place, we do take out a lot and never get disappointed.

Beef and Green Pepper Lunch Combo is what I ordered. First time here as I was in the area to pick something up and decided to go to the 24 hour fitness next door. Decided to give it a try. From the outside of the strip mall the door is slightly angled and tinted so my expectations were low. I was hungry though so what the heck. Turns out it was clean and didn't smell. A good thing lol. Then I looked at the lunch special and found the Beef and green pepper combo. It came with a small egg roll and both noodles and white rice so I didn't have to choose. Then you could pick a egg drop or hit and sour soup. For $12.95 I thought it was a pretty good deal. Then when it came out (see picture) I was definitely surprised by the portion and more importantly the amount of beef that came with it. I decided to mix the noodles with the beef and made Beef Lo Mein. I'm leaving full and satisfied. Everything was good but if I had to leave a criticism I'd say a tad oily. I was planning on eating here once but I may have to go to this 24 hour fitness again and combine it with a visit here.

I tried this place out recently since my usual spot was closed. The restaurant itself is clean, but the food not so much. I ordered over $75.00 worth of food for my family and I. The chicken in all the dishes we got was crunchy and fishy so we ended up throwing it all out. It just wasn't edible at all.

Well.... We were on the hunt for a new good Chinese place. We ordered lemon chicken and the cashew chicken. Thought the chicken was a little chewy then noticed the under cooked chicken!!! Ugh!!! You should hard pass on this place! Still on the search for the best chicken!

We just ordered dinner and it was amazing! The Moo Shu Chicken and Orange Peel Chicken were our favorites. Cannot wait to come back again soon!!

Chef Wongs has become our new goto Chinese restaurant. Love the big menu and noodle dish options. Favorites are the Pork in Garlic sauce and the Orange Peel Chicken. Need to eat at the restaurant and try some of the soups.

Can't believe this place have a four star rating. I've tried to eat the kung pao chicken they brought out but it was burnt. I didn't complain but just asked for the check and The young waiter just looked at the kung pao chicken and said is there something wrong with the food. He said they would make another plate and went inside to make a new order. One of the lady looked out and a minute later the waiter came out and took the kung pao chicken plate inside. 5 minutes later he comes out with a new plate but the portion is about the same as the old plate take in earlier. So I mixed chicken up to see it and it looked like same plate taken in and just rinsed off burnt sauce and a quick fry. Man if you gonna rinse it you should do a least a good rinse of the burnt chicken from the sauce. I confronted the waiter and said looks like you just went in and rinse burnt sauce from chicken. He got made but than just walked a way. I paid the bill and left, than I went to check Yelp and lots of complaints from the same dish!!! Place should be shut down.

This is a small restaurant in the Stator Brothers Plaza in Penasquitos. I've been there twice and will return. After having worked in China in various areas, I appreciate good Chinese food. Chef Wong is an excellent chef, at least when it comes to the fish special and sizzling noodles. we had. Their menu selection is fairly large and lunch specials are very reasonably priced at about $12-$13. They come with soup (sweet and sour or egg drop), two egg rolls, and a generous helping of the main dish. I had the fish platter with noodles, vegetables, and a white fish. Everything was very tasty, including the Japanese wine. Beer is also offered. The young waitress had a very pleasant demeanor and was very attentive. The interior of this restaurant is not very extravagant, but neither is the pricing. I highly recommend this place if you want great food at good cost.

Growing up in NY allowed me to experience many excellent and some less than stellar Chinese restaurants. San Diego has many better than average Chinese restaurants. Sadly, Chef Wong is not one of them. Not even close. I placed an order for delivery from Chef Wong last night and spent the night wishing I had not! I ordered orange peel chicken. Mongolian beef and lo mein chow fun. NONE of it resembled anything I had ever seen before! The food was delivered by Uber Eats. It all had a very odd aroma. I did taste the orange chicken, which was tough, tasteless and seemed to be tofu rather than chicken. The lo mein was quite bizarre in look, aroma and nauseating in taste!. It was, to say the least, inedible. Mongolian beef is an all-time favorite of mine. Not so this revolting pile of slop. It smelled like old men's filthy feet! I did not dare to even taste it so it went in the trash. In total, I had about 3 forkfuls of the food before ditching it all. A few hours later, my 3 tastes of this "food" caused a revolution in my stomach and my body rid itself of whatever I managed to eat!. I called to request a refund and was told the owner would handle it. They wanted a picture of the food and a photo was sent to them. I was told they need to speak with their "special" committee. I never heard from them again! That was $42 down the drain!. I intend to try again tomorrow to get my refund. This entire experience was so horrific that I want to make my point to anyone even contemplating getting food from Chef Wong to read and reread my review prior to ordering food from them. Next time I want Chinese food, I will go to any of the other places I know are good. I did read all the reviews to see if anyone else had negative experiences with Chef Wong and I should have read them sooner!.

I came here and the food was fast! I got the beef pan fried flat noodles (chow fun) and I'm Chinese. This place is legit. The portion of one order is for two persons or two portions. Price was around $12 for a noodle dish.

First time at this establishment... clean, respectful, attentive to our choices, we are vegetarian. The portions are large. Everything was excellent. Do yourself a favor and treat yourself to this place
