Place has ok food. The service was good when I went but when it got a bit busier I didn’t see my waitress for quite some time. I asked for no whipped cream on my waffles but they put it on. Other than that it was a fun restaurant.

Tater tots were hot, crunchy & fresh! The mini ribs were flavorful and fall off the bone tender. The BBQ sauce had a good flavor with a peppery finish. Hubby had the chicken & waffles. Waffles had the vanilla/cinnamon flavor plus they were light & fluffy. Deep fried chicken was crispy with a light batter coating. Chicken was very juicy, you could see it even in the breast portion. Waffle was served with strawberries, whipped cream, butter & syrup. Portions are generous. Food was served hot.

We attended a dinner at Chicken Charlie’s for the Scripps Ranch High School football banquet, and overall it was a very positive experience. The dinner was a set menu. My son tried the hamburger, which he said was okay but not great, while my husband had the chicken tenders and really enjoyed them.

As a vegetarian, none of the set menu options were meatless, but the owner went out of their way to accommodate me by making a special dish with eggplant, chickpeas, and peppers served fajita-style, along with a side salad. It was actually very delicious and much appreciated.

To top it all off, the fried Oreos for dessert were awesome and a big hit. Overall, I was very happy with the experience and truly enjoyed the banquet.

Fried shrimp was very tasty. You get eight tails plus fries. Two in our party chose the crispy chicken sandwich. Both loved the flavor and crunch. One other thoroughly enjoyed the chicken tenders accompanied by onion rings. The serving size was large. He had leftovers that heated up perfectly.

Never been there before, so we decided to try it. It was a disappointment. The servers were nice, but the food, although it came in large portions, was all fried and greasy. Besides the salads and the Hawaiian chicken, there is nothing else to lure customers in. Unless they change their food to include some non-fried dishes, we are not going back.

A few years ago I won a goldfish at the fair across from Chicken Charlie’s stand. We named him Chicken Charlie then found out he was a she when she laid eggs everywhere. She is still alive to this day and has grown insanely huge. We love Chicken Charlie!

We tried the happy hour deals and instantly regretted it. Our server was very kind but overall service was slow since only one server and a bartender were covering the whole place on a Saturday afternoon during happy hour. The food was the bigger issue: wings tasted like straight vinegar, fries were bland, and the mac and cheese was easily the worst I’ve had, overcooked and absolutely flavorless. The only decent item was the cheese balls. Happy hour prices aren’t worth it, I won’t be back.

Celebrated a friend's birthday - we both like chicken and waffles. Great service. The food was abundant and tasty. Complementary birthday dessert. A fun place to go.

Ordered 4 pice chicken dinner to go with mack & cheese, onion rings. No flavor, no seasoning in the mack & cheese! Chicken too salty! Food was better when they were located on Balboa Ave. But the chicken was very tender still just too much salt on the skin. Haven't been here since last year. Maybe next time will try a different menu item.
