I wonder how many times a day they watch people walk around trying to find the front door? Embarrassing but super cool. Cute little spot inside!
Picked up take out which was still being boxed up when I arrived. The cream cheese wontons were gone before we got home. yumm! The dipping sauce..eh..
The sushi...these rolls are giant. And fresh. And so tasty! Food was perfect. Will return!

If you're looking for consistently amazing food, look no further than Chopstix. I've been going here for roughly 15 years and have never had a bad experience. The servers are great and attentive, the food is next level, and the atmosphere is always nice. Great spot to eat after having a few beers elsewhere. Love their ramen, katsu, curry, rolls, and appetizers. Can't go wrong with this place

Very quick service. Chicken Karaage was super hot and crispy. Sushi rolls were huge and delicious. Miso soups were super warm and tasty. Employees were very attentive!

To me Chopstix is a San Diego institution.

Chopstix was my favorite restaurant as a child and the food has always been delicious and comfortating. I no longer live in San Diego, but I'm sincerely thankful that I can count on Chopstix whenever I visit my hometown.

Am a regular for 30 years; visit a couple times monthly. It's like an informal cafe with expanding menu. They've done well in adding combo sushi to their ramen, udon, soba, and over-rice mainstays.
Noise level varies.
I focus on Oyako (or new Bulgogi) Don, yakisoba, and a couple of their soba bowls. I enjoy relaxing and chatting here.

Legit some of the best sushi rice I’ve ever had! It’s all about the rice and they nail it here. I ordered takeout on a whim here, so I can’t wait to try the rest of the menu

Been going here 20 years. Mabo Ramen is a must have. Now open later and have a happy hour from 9-12am. Awesome place. Never a bad meal

I ate in for lunch.
We ordered the Mapo Tofu rice bowl, ramen, and a pork cutlet rice bowl. The basic flavors of all the dishes were good.
The Mapo Tofu rice bowl wasn’t spicy and had less tofu but lots of ground meat, which kids would probably like. It’s not authentic Mapo Tofu, but it was tasty. A good option when you’re craving Japanese food.
