This is my second time coming here. I wanted to give them another try since my first time wasn't a very good experience. I thought this time around it was going to be a little different. I'll give you my honest review.
The carne asada meat: I ordered carne asada tacos and the texture of the meat was hard and chewy. Lots of nerve and extremely dry. I don't know what type of meat cut they use, but it's a low quality cut. The size of the meat needs to be cut into smaller pieces. I received big chunks. The meat wasn't the best and it lacks flavor. There was no seasoning on the meat. I had to keep putting salt on my taco after every bite. The carne asada was nowhere near close to the true authentic Tijuana taco. Basically it's a carne asada taco a la plancha. Very dry. It definitely lacks flavor.
The tortilla :Lots of masa and very thick. The tortilla was cold and not hot. They're not as good as I thought. It's almost like they were sitting around and they just warm them up before you even order.
Guacamole : No taste, no salt, no seasoning, the guacamole had a weird flavor. I think they over do it with the guacamole. Quality >over quantity
Overall the taco was nowhere close to an authentic Tijuana taco. When I received my order, the tacos appeared to be already pre-made and warm. They weren't made hot off the grill. The asada taco does not absorb the carne asada juices. If they care about the customers they need to do better and get it right. Not worth the hype in my honest opinion. Overall I'll give their tacos a 3 out of 10.
And before the owner tries to come at me because I have one or two reviews, it doesn't disqualify my honest opinion. If you want to go ahead and get upset at me for giving my honest review, you're more than welcome. However, It doesn't change my review. You need to do better at receiving constructive criticism. Don't be negative and talk down on your customers for being honest.
I don't recommend this place and I won't be coming back.
Update : Yes you know how to read. Never have I gone to the Market st location. I've only been here twice. I have never left a review on your Market st location. I live right around the corner from Palm Avenue buddy. I came to this place the first time and just recently I deleted my old review, since I wanted to give you guys another chance. Lol nice try though trying to make me sound like I got something against you guys.

I saw this place on social media and I have been dying to go! You cant miss it! Once you pull up you'll see the smoke from them using the grill to cook their meats and you'll know your in the right place! The parking situation is pretty tight so good luck finding some where to park. I walked in and immediately thought the at was beautiful on the walls. It smelled so good inside and you could see the staff making fresh tortillas! There was plenty of seating both inside and outside. And the woman who took our order was very kind and patient with us.
We ordered a Lamb Taco, an Al Pastor Mula, and the Gringa with Al Pastor and Carne Asada. The Lamb taco was so tender and juices, it was perfectly cooked! The Al Pastor Tacos were full of flavor and the corn tortilla was freshly mad which made for such a delicious bite! And the Grinda was a freshly made flour tortilla that pulled this giant taco together. I had to say. The carne asada was perfectly cooked! Not dry at all which is so common. I love carne asada but when it's done right and this is the best I've found in California so far! The green salsa was really good and the orange salsa they had on the table was also such a nice touch with a little bit of heat and some citrus. The guacamole on the tacos was a very generous amount but they don't add any seasoning in it so add lime and salt if you need to. And they brought us an extra bowl if limes with radish and cucumbers.
We also got an horchata but it was a little too artificial for me. Good but very sweet. There's a large drink selection with other aquas too!
Over all, Chula Tacos was amazing, super authentic and the food taste like it's made with love! I can't wait to go back!

I saw these tacos all over my insta.
I was exited to try them.
When you walk in the smell of meat market really hits you it made nauseous. I didn't like the way it smelled neither did my family. We decided to eat outside. Anywho the tacos were so mediocre I was sad. The meat was low quality dry and un seasoned. The al pastor taco was better than the asada but not by much, they were super greasy and with minimal toppings. O was given two wedges of lime and three slices of cucumber and 2 slices of radish... for about 8 tacos... for over 40$ worth of food just sad. I was super open minded when I went and left heavily disappointed. The tacos were a solid 2/5. Will not be returning. Just not for me and I know for a fact there is better tacos in chula vista alone. Don't recommend.

The handmade tortillas are a little thicker than most. The al Pastor has good flavor but I prefer to have a little more char on the edges. The carne asada was on the tough side and a bit dry. Had good char flavor but could of used a bit more seasoning. The Keka which is what they are known for is huge. Big enough for 2 to 3 people to share. Not sure if the guacamole on top did much to it for there was no flavor. There is a lot going on with the cheese tortilla and the filling. Adding some salsa and macha does make the keka taste so much better. Also tried the tripa which had a great cook on it but was on the salty side. There is alot of hype on this place, for me, it was just okay. Nothing really sticks out and puts it above the other TJ style tacos in the area.
