Calamari was good but a bit salty. Lasagna was okay but very heavy on the ground beef. For the price I wouldn’t recommend

I ordered take out a night before a half marathon. I know you’re not supposed to mess with your diet the night before a race but I had no issues the next day. I have been eating a low salt diet lately and the lasagna, while delicious , tasted really salty to me. I think this is due to my taste buds changing. I also ordered the bruschetta which was quite small and I wouldn’t order it again due to the cost was $19 through a delivery app.

We sat outside and soaked up the spring evening bustle in Little Italy. The negroni lived up to the billing! Fresh foccacia was served in a brown bag along with just-made pesto...yum! We split the salumi board (amazing) and the whole branzino, simply prepared with potatoes and sautéed zucchini slices. Excellent food and excellent service. A perfect destination for an unpretentious date night.

The BEST pesto! Perfectly prepared gluten free shrimp pasta. Fantastic service from our server, Wyatt. Great place to have authentic Italian. Highly recommended! A must-do in Little Italy SD!

They have a separated vegan menus with lots of options. The pasta was really good!

This was the best vegan Italian food I’ve ever had at restaurant. Homemade pasta. The sauce was incredibly flavorful. Vegan caprese salad that my Omni friends couldn’t believe was vegan. Vegan tiramisu that was off the hook. If I lived in San Diego I would be a regular at this place. Truly outstanding.

The ambience is charming and the service friendly and efficient...the food just wasn't that remarkable. We have long had an inconsistent customer experience at this establishment, sometimes good, sometimes bad, sometimes merely average. This was disappointing for two reasons: we brought our omnivorous friends, and they found both their wine and meals average at best. As vegans, this place used to be the only game in town with their vegan menu, but it has stayed largely unchanged over the years while several new spots have begun to innovate and bring truly creative and exciting options to bear. Our meal was also just okay, and for those prices we feel they should do better.

Terrible. So many great San Diego Italian restaurants and this one is a total dud. Food was marginal, for the price point and how great all the other local restaurants are, I had much higher expectations. Major pass.

Such an amazing vegan experience. Excellent food & atmosphere. There is something for everyone here!

We took out of town guests here and we hoped it would be a winner. Sadly, it was just shy. One dish was oversalted. Requested a different meal to replace. The same meal was brought out and then that had to be replaced. Our poor guest had to eat on his own because the rest of us were done. Rock hard gelato was brought out and then another dessert was missed. I felt like we were not heard or the staff was too busy to be attentive. Sadly, our visit was not a huge hit.

My family went here in December and had a fantastic experience. We ate outside. Staff was friendly. The cook (owner?) came out and talked to us for a while about vegan food. Everything was at least solid, with few things standing out. As simple as it was, I really liked the bread. The calamari was creative and is probably my favorite vegan version. We love their Bruschetta. And the olives make their Spaghetti pop.

Wish I'd read the previous review about their health department issues before I ate here 🤢🤮. The food was pretty bad, as much as I appreciate vegan options, it's not good. The vegan calamari was the only thing we liked out of the 4 dishes we ordered.

Vegan lasagna was just okay.., ambiance was just okay.., bread was not that good, kids pasta was not great at all.., overall, left slightly dissatisfied.

Due to a health inspection on 3/12/25, Civico is temporarily closed. One of the major reasons is due to vermin infestation (rats). They have been struggling with this for years and this is why I never eat there. I walk by in the mornings and you can see rats running in and out from the street.

Menu had about half a dozen app and entree vegan options and it was hard to decide! The caprese was ample with a nice vegan mozz but the winner was the spaghetti and meatballs. After being in Rome last month, the noodles were really almost the same texture. The veg-balls were so flavorful, eggplant, olive, and tomato sauce was delicious. Definite winner
