It's great that Civico 1845 has a separate vegan menu and a nice choice of vegan items on there. We had the vegan calamari, vegan pepperoni pizza and the vegan caprese. The latter two were delicious. The calamari was very much like real calamari. I've only had calamari once before, decades ago, and wasn't keen on it, but we'd thought we'd try the vegan version. The menu is on the smaller side however, the food is really good. The portions are smaller as well so if youre coming with an appetite expect to get an appetizer as well. They have free hot bread and pesto which is really good, but the pesto comes with a lot of oil initially so if that's not your thing you can soak some of it up with a napkin or a piece of bread. Lucas was our server and he was FANTASTIC! This is our second trip to San Diego in the past 2 months and he's been our server. Exceptional service, his attention to detail and his knowledge about the menu helped us choose perfect entrees! We look forward to coming back and seeing our favorite part of Civico 1845!
