This is a Great Date Night Place!. The Food is Great and the Vibe is Edgy!

Amazing drinks, atmosphere & service.
The sushi was VERY disappointing.

We ordered the vampiro slayer… albacore was the first item listed for the item but the absolute smallest sliver on top. Inside of the roll was 3/4 cucumber 1/4 avocado, and sometimes a small bit of shrimp. There were many fun toppings listed on this tool but the overpriced cucumber roll just tasted like cucumber. I would come back for drinks and vibes, but not sure I’d get sushi again.

I walked into this place and thought immediately what a great vibe. Then the Girl who works at the bar has a terrible attitude. Wish I got her name so I could report it. Everytime I travel to San diego I experience a good vibe from everyone. Figure out who this bartender is and get rid of her. I left immediately after having a short conversation with this terrible bartender. You should easily be able to replace her with the million awesome people in San diego. Good luck.

Went for dinner on a Friday evening. I made reservations and was seated right away. The decor and ambiance of the place was really cool. The music was on the louder side. I ordered garlic edamame, sashimi platter, and the hamachi roll. The garlic edamame was delicious. The sashimi platter was alright and to me the highlight was the sides of pickled vegetables and real pickled wasabi it came with. The hamachi roll was not very good. The ratio of the rice to fish was off and the rice was hard and improperly seasoned. The drinks were good- the shisho drink and lychee drink were well balanced. Overall, worth a visit but would stick to apps and drinks.

As someone who grew up in Hawaii and has traveled to Japan, this place nailed the authentic Japanese vibe- not just what Americans think that should look like. The sushi was the best I’ve had in a while but kept falling apart- I think they need a new sticky rice ratio to make sure the rolls aren’t falling apart when you pick them up. Super fresh and great quality. Would do 5 stars if they reformulated the rice.

The sashimi really is sublime. Get the tuna belly! The music was too loud to easily carry on conversation , though.

Aioli sauce on everything...on Japanese food. Karaage - aioli sauce. Agadashi Tofu - Aioli sauce. Sushi - Aioli sauce. Loud music felt like I was in an EDM club but if this is the vibe you're looking for, it could be fun.

Had their Philly roll, spicy tuna roll, chicken skewer, chicken gyoza and one of their house roll (which was the best imo, just can't remember the name) and all in all—10 out of 10

Food and staff was amazing, but would prefer if we got a better seating for two next time since I couldn't see the beautiful scenery of the restaurant

Service and food were really great! Friendly and fast. I was hoping the music and environment would more lively. We were seated closer to the front of the restaurant and the music playing was fun but it was hard to hear. Overall would recommend if you're looking for a calmer dinner with friends.

It was ok. Probably wouldn't come back. Pretty decor. Food, drinks and service were fine. We tried the spicy noodles, edame, and an assortment of sushi rolls Pricey for what it is. Good location in Little Italy.
