Food was great, but the service and pricing transparency were disappointing.

When ordering chilaquiles, I was asked how I wanted my egg cooked, which made it seem included — but it was charged extra on the bill. Same with sour cream: I asked for it on the side instead of on top and was charged for a separate side. The mango drink is shown with a spicy candy straw in the menu photos, but that was also an extra charge not mentioned upfront.

Service was mediocre. Our waitress never checked on us, and I had to ask other staff to get her attention. The bill took over five minutes to arrive, and the card machine immediately suggested an 18% tip despite the lack of service.

Good food, but misleading add-ons and poor service left a bad impression.

Place was empty and still took forever to get someone to take our order.
Took even longer to get any food. Others ordered awhile after and got their food first. It was apparent that they were friends with staff members. They seemed to get great service and we were ignored for long periods.

Terrible customer service. Took forever to just get a torta. The sauce they packed was too watery and had no taste. Overpriced and mediocre food at best. Ordered French fries and they didn’t have it. Why have it on the menu if you can’t serve it? Definitely would not recommend or coming back here downtown area. Don’t have unlimited time standing there looking stupid.

We pre-reserved and were seated timely. The person checking us in was friendly. However, our waitress was the opposite. Before we ordered we asked if we can order on 2 separate checks, since we were 2 families. She acted like she didn't understand what we were asking and then finally said “she would make it work” in an unpleasant tone. We still paid the mandatory tip, since it was 9 of us, so I don't know what the big deal was. Since it was our first time there, we were asking her a few questions about the menu and she kept saying “one moment” in a frustrated tone. When it came to pay she didn't bring us a bill. We looked around and other servers were providing bills and Mexican candy to their tables. She didn't do either and we had 5 children under the age of 14 with us. We didn't end up asking for it because we truly didn't even want to talk to her anymore. I will say the food came out quick, was delicious, and the servings were big. It just sucks that this was our first experience.

Most of the times they get my order wrong and it’s missing items, I will not be ordering from here again nor do I recommend it.

Let me preface this review by saying that I never order chilquiles from any restaurant. It is a dish that has always been made at home, so I'm used to it being a certain way. Mainly, very spicy and more on the mushy side.
The atmosphere is pretty all over the place. Nice clean place. Was very busy. At times they play music very loud, then turn it way down you could barely hear it, then blast it again.
The service was also a lil weird. Everybody was very nice. Our server was good but after we ordered we saw her maybe twice after that. Didn't get my water refilled till the end of the meal. Food didn't come out all at once. Different people brought out different dishes so there was a little confusion there. Starter came out last as we were finishing our main.
As far as the food, wasn't for me. The pancake was good. The burrito de machaca was probably the most flavorful dish I had. The chilquiles were underwhelming. Not much flavor. And the beans are very watery. By no means was the food bad. It's good Mexican food for the masses. Also a bit on the pricey side.
Like I always say, please try it for your self. It was packed for a reason, a lot of people like it. Just wasn't for me. I'd go back to try the torta ahogada tho.

This place was so cute inside. We tried the latte flight and I order the la patron sampler and my husband ordered the del Mercado. The food was very delicious. My only complaint was my La patron was kinda cold.

Amazing green chilaquiles. The red ones are tomato sauce so wont recommend. I would really prefer that the Cafe de olla have the original sugar added. The sweet bread is delicious too. Make reservations or you will wait. 😊

Just a reminder it does not have a bar. They did make me wait until full party arrived before seating me although my server table was ready. The food was good and large portions. It was a bit noisy to where you could not hear others around talking when they did multiple table celebrations. Next time I will probably just order my food Togo

Super tasty Mexican brunch place. Heavy focus on chilaquiles - not really much choice otherwise. Flavors are very authentic, and food is cooked well and comes out fast despite how busy the place is. We particularly loved the appetizer sampler platter (I know, of all things - just give it a try and you'll see). Great kids menu with a large variety of fun options like spiced chocolate milk with chocolate covered marshmallow lollipops.
Service is not bad, again, given how busy the place is, although it can feel understaffed at times.
This place has always been packed when we've gone. Clearly a local favorite. Highly recommend making a reservation, otherwise expect to wait in line (possibly for a long time).

This place made my morning. From the first bite to the last sip of coffee, everything felt warm and satisfying. The food reminded me of home style cooking with a modern touch that made it memorable.
