I’ve been to Coco Maya many times — it’s one of my go-to spots in San Diego. This visit was a Saturday afternoon before heading to an event, and I was thrilled to find out they were running happy hour on food (the host initially said no, but our server confirmed it). I ordered my favorite: carnitas nachos, which aren’t on the regular menu but pop up during happy hour. They were as delicious as ever and served in a portion size that’s generous without being overwhelming. The rest of my group had burgers, which they loved, and we shared fries that were good but took a backseat to the mains. Service started a little slow but was friendly and efficient, and they managed to turn our table quickly despite being busy and recovering from a large event. Coco Maya always delivers solid food, a fun atmosphere, and plenty of drink options.

We had our 25th Anniversary at Coco Mayas, and it was perfect! The Food, Location, ambience, decor and Service was fantastic. We shared three plates - Ceviche, Wings and Lobster Tacos - all were delicious! Our Waiter ( wish I remembered his name) was so great - he even brought us a complimentary glass of Champagne to celebrate. I would highly recommend.

Place was very cute and service was great, however it was hotter than hell with all outdoor seating and no fans and little shade. Hindered our experience. Also a bit overpriced.
The venue itself is absolutely stunning and has incredible potential — a beautiful ambiance that sets the stage for what could be an exceptional experience. Unfortunately, the bar service fell far short of expectations. Despite standing at the bar for over 20 minutes, we were left unattended. One bartender appeared to be engaged in a lengthy personal conversation with a colleague, while another remained focused solely on a single customer, seemingly unaware of the growing line. It was disappointing to feel overlooked in such an otherwise impressive setting. I truly hope the management takes notice and addresses the level of service at the bar. With the right team and attention to customer care, this place could easily become a standout destination

Cute!!! Got there right at 9am, first ones seated, our choice (helps to have reservations). I had the Pork Belly Benedict and the Bad Hunny. Both delicious! My friends ordered the Tropic Thunder, Power Bowl (vegan sub) and the Breakfast Sandwich. No take‐aways! We were celebrating my birthday and so I was surprised with a dessert 😊. Next visit will be for dinner!

After running the SD marathon I was super hungry and this place was the place we stopped to eat. The entrance gave a jungle/George of jungle vibes. As you entered the building you have to go up stairs where you'll be greeted by the host. Lots of natural light with a bar right in the center. Our waitress super nice and even recommended the shrimp plate seen in the picture below.
The menu isn't super busy but enough to chose from. Food is good over all and it is a place I would come back to if I was in the area again. The prices are a bit on the higher end for drinks specifically but that's just my opinion.
