The staff here is always friendly and accommodating. The food is 10/10, especially the current menu with Caribbean items. My favorites are the Tropic Thunder and Caribbean fried chicken with plantain cornbread. You won't be disappointed :).

I’ve been to Coco Maya many times — it’s one of my go-to spots in San Diego. This visit was a Saturday afternoon before heading to an event, and I was thrilled to find out they were running happy hour on food (the host initially said no, but our server confirmed it). I ordered my favorite: carnitas nachos, which aren’t on the regular menu but pop up during happy hour. They were as delicious as ever and served in a portion size that’s generous without being overwhelming. The rest of my group had burgers, which they loved, and we shared fries that were good but took a backseat to the mains. Service started a little slow but was friendly and efficient, and they managed to turn our table quickly despite being busy and recovering from a large event. Coco Maya always delivers solid food, a fun atmosphere, and plenty of drink options.

Very cute brunch spot!! 100% recommend having a reservation. Could improve waiting area as it was cramped and people had to wait in the staircase to avoid the sun. Otherwise, good was amazing, our server was attentive and friendly, the pace of everything was perfect. Very very cute interior, I'd return!

We had our 25th Anniversary at Coco Mayas, and it was perfect! The Food, Location, ambience, decor and Service was fantastic. We shared three plates - Ceviche, Wings and Lobster Tacos - all were delicious! Our Waiter ( wish I remembered his name) was so great - he even brought us a complimentary glass of Champagne to celebrate. I would highly recommend.
