This is one of my new favorites in the north park area. The combination of good coffee, great staff, and plenty of seating won me over. They have a great combination of outdoor patio and plenty of indoor seating. Even with plenty of people there, there was still seating throughout.

We love coldbrew and even though they didnt have an option to sample the mint coldbrew they had, they offered to give a bit of the surup to make a little sample using the one we ordered which is super nice. We were also able to get it in a glass rather than plastic which is great as well. My only nitpick is that glass should be the default for people getting it for there.

The atmosphere is great too. While it is designed for buying the products they sell, it is nice items that are laid out in a way that adds a great look to the place.

Overall a great spot.

Absolutely loved the ambience and service up. Lots and lots of space indoors and out with a cozy atmosphere. Coffee and food was quite good. Definitely a great spot for coffee lovers.

This is a cute, relaxing place that sits next to a plant nursery. The outside patio is quiet, away from the street. Inside is decorated with a cottage feel. Avocado toast was very good but I would have loved fresh avocado slices instead of a spread. The kids options are why we came. My daughter had the. Chocolate steamer. They have several options.

Incredible coffee drinks and food offerings. Lots of seating both in and outdoor. Cute artisanal merchant as well. Photographed is their flatbread with bacon, burrata and sausage.

Love, Love, Looooooove this place. I feel like if we were to create a cute coffee shop, where you can work a little, take some selfies, buy a candle, plant or a greeting card ALL IN ONE PLACE, thissss would be it.

The staff is consistently kind and helpful with your orders and doing their best to pronounce your name loudly enough for you to hear.

There’s a handful of outdoor patio style seats on the side walk.

Parking is relatively easy on the street or the lot across the street.

It’s a couple of block from the beach too, so you can walk off any sweet treats on the beach. 🤗🤩😎

This place is cute, but I paid $45 for 2 espresso shots that tasted bad and burnt + 2 tiny slices of avocado toast. Very disappointing.

Lots of indoor seating space. Collective retail space with a farm style interior.

My cousins and I went out for breakfast, and initially, we passed this spot because we had another place in mind. But once we found out they served breakfast, we decided to come back. I'm so glad we did. The ambiance is super cute, very hip and modern! If I lived in the area, this would definitely be my go-to chill spot. Plus, it’s very dog-friendly, which is a big plus.

We decided to share our orders: a salmon bagel, turkey on an English muffin, and prosciutto with hot honey and goat cheese. Everything was delicious, the perfect Sunday morning for a quick family get-together. I highly recommend giving them a try! There is a nursery next door- North Park Nursery- check out my review with pics!

This is the second time I’ve tried this place. I wanted to give it the benefit of the doubt, so I didn’t review it until now. The price point is fairly high for a coffee shop in the middle of a working-class area—$7 for a regular bagel with cream cheese, $7+ for a chai (just tea and milk), $15 granola bowl, etc. The drinks were lackluster at best and, honestly, in my opinion, way too expensive for such a dull, bland drink. To make it even more underwhelming, the place was insanely packed. There was literally no seating, as people were camped out for 5+ hours, so I sat outside—which is fine; it’s San Diego, so the weather is usually great (this was on a weekend at 1 p.m., lol). What kind of sucks is that their outdoor space is right on a main road, so it’s not peaceful at all. I barely found a spot outside, and the space wasn’t relaxing at all, given the location and the fumes from the traffic going by. Oh, and to top it all off, they have very few parking spots. I really wanted to like this place and find a new coffee spot, but I won’t be going back, sadly. Overpriced, overrated, and underwhelming. There are wayyyy better spots for this price point.

$15 for the smallest breakfast sandwich you’ve ever seen. The oat milk latte tasted watered down.

I’ve watched Communal lose its quality over the years i’ve lived in the area. The chai is literally too gingery and not in a tasty way!
Coffee is mediocre and nothing amazing. Truly mid

The carmelized avocado sandwich was delicious and they accommodated my request for a different bread. My vanilla bean latte was also good, but not as hot as I would like. It might be perfect for someone else. I just like my coffee really hot.
