Steady decline for a long time now. Food menu used to be pretty large and they actually had really amazing food. Now there’s only three breakfast items on the menu, 3 sandwiches. They killed off the breakfast burrito too which used to be pretty amazing

Updated review. Service increasingly brusque, on occasion outright rude. The food menu is sorely diminished now. The pastries are lobbed haphazardly obto the counter. Not much thought to presentation, no labels to explain what the items are. Visited here a few times a year over many years. Steady decline. The food items remain quite good and remains a nice little sun trap to sit and enjoy a coffee. They do not accept cash as payment and despite pretty reasonable tips, the service attitude is wanting.

Coffee and breakfast are good. The customer service is ok, for some reason employees look annoyed always.

This used to be my go-to spot when I’m in east village, and They used to have two vegan options on the menu now they have none. Maybe I’m bitter about it, not sure yet.

We came to Copa Vida to grab a quick bite and work for a few hours. The coffee shop itself is beautiful - it’s open and has lots of natural light. There is a decent amount of seating and good internet. The baristas were all very friendly and efficient.

For food: I ordered the chicken caesar wrap - it was mediocre. There were very soggy tomatoes in it. Korean chicken wrap was also okay. The serving sizes are pretty large, so good amount of food. We also got an almond croissant which was stale.

Coffee: really good coffee! I really enjoyed my iced vanilla latte and my friend got a lavender latte with cold foam that she also loved.

Bring the old menu back! It went from pastries and sandwiches and solid plated menu items… to 3 different wraps and a breakfast sandwich… unreal.

Can’t believe they charge a whole dollar for vegan milks, and their coffee is just okay to begin with. Their vegan breakfast burrito is delicious and huge, but they said they’re changing food options so not sure they still have it. Ordered a berry almond butter toast (only vegan sweet food on menu) and after we sat down, the manager came over and said they didn’t have it anymore. That was reasonable, but he tried to get us to order something to replace it, rather than refund it, but they literally had no other vegan options for sweet dishes.

I live nearby and love stopping in for a latte or their avocado toast. I’ll sometimes bring my laptop with me to answer emails and chill there with my coffee.

I got the lavender latte with oatmilk and it was one of the best I’ve ever had! I’m sure the other drinks on the menu were just as great. I took my drink to go but the interior was really airy and spacious. It would’ve been nice to hang around there for a bit.

I’m actually dumbfounded that this place has a 4.5 star average and am disappointed I fell for it and wasted my calorie allotment on this place.
I walked into a staff of 3 unwelcoming baristas this AM - one of which never acknowledged my presence when I stood at the register (no line, not busy) and kept ranting to the guy barista about some drama their location is having. The barista who did break away to take my order was icy at best and seemed annoyed I asked about latte flavors, curtly pointed to a sign BEHIND me (your back is directly to the menu board on the wall when you walk up to face the register….?) like I’m the idiot for not seeing it. All of this could be fine if the latte was good because that’s kind of just how baristas in coffee shops are. Guess what? It wouldn’t even rank as mediocre. If you’re in the area and can wait until 9 AM for Hinar to open, just walk there instead. Same price for a latte, cooler atmosphere, same brisk service.
