I’ve been a loyal customer to Costco for the last 15 years. I got married back in 2018 and since then I’ve been going to various stores throughout Southern California such as, Santee, La Mesa, Chula Vista (both of them, Mission Valley, and Market Street. Most recently I went to the store off Carmel Mountain and when it came time to pay we used my wife’s and my Visa card. The cashier said we couldn’t use that card and then called the front end manager and with no explanation, the manager said, “sorry we can’t accept your card.” I said, “my name is associated with card as well.” However the manager took a stand and said we couldn’t use it, because my wife isn’t a member. However, I said, “I am and I’m making a purchase.” My wife and I rushed out in embarrassment and humiliation because we were being stared down by the cashier and management with no way to make this right. What kind of customer service is this? Are Costco’s independently owned with different core values and expectations? Not once has this happened at the other stores that I’ve been to. Most recently on February 28th we went to the La Mesa store and used the Visa card that belongs to my wife and I without a problem. My wife and I had spent 45 minutes buying groceries for the week, only to be denied. We felt humiliated, disrespected, and with no explanation of why we couldn’t use our card. We had to return home without groceries and now must altar our weekly schedule to accommodate getting groceries at another location just to give our family food to eat at home.

You CANNOT beat the hot dog deal. You get a monstrous hot dog AND a refillable soda for $1.50!!! The pizza is also a great deal for a giant slice. Don’t forget the crazy long churros. A great lunch and bargain. Eat before you shop, and you save hundreds in the store!!!
