Wish I had looked at the reviews closer, but we were super hungry and tired after hiking. This is probably the worst Mexican food I've ever had.
I thought it would be similar to the Cotijas location in Tierrasanta, which is decent, but no. No chips and salsa while you wait for dine in, no access to the salsa bar.
Meat is dry and flavorless, tortillas are kinda chewy and stale. Chips weren't good either. So disappointing and a huge waste of money.
The only positive was the kind staff. Not their fault the recipes and quality is trash.

Worst food I’ve ever had ,, don’t believe me than try their rolled tacos that have nothing on them but cheese, and a teaspoon of guacamole or imitation guacamole, this place has had consistently poor food over the last few years, it’s a shame because their across the street from cowles mountain, and it’s the only option in the area…

It's a small Taco shop with excellent food , especially Carne asada burritos are probably the best around.

This place is so stingy with their sour cream and guac. If you ask for extra anything - they will charge you for it but not put it on. Come here if you feel like paying $17 for a garbage burrito.

I remember eating here in the 80s to early 90s good food
Nice size dining room, quiet spot. Fresh food. Just don't order the Cali burrito and expect very much carne asada; it is mostly fries. Fries are nice crispy texture just not enough meat in this burrito. Better off getting a carne asada and ask to add fries or get a side. Cheap moves, they can be more considerate.

Restaurantji Recommends
Cashier was very rude. I wanted to use the restroom first before I order food and he wasn’t willing to let me use the restroom. I’m a long-term customer. I’ve been going to other location in Del Mar but moving forward I’m never gonna come to this establishment at all. Highly not recommended.

Simply don’t come here. More context breakfast burrito was ordered that was filled to the brim with cheese don’t get me wrong I love cheese but I didn’t order a cheese burrito I ordered a breakfast burrito. On top of that the sauces were watered down. And overall condition of the burrito was meh
