Love everything from this restaurant, love the martinis with Blue cheese Olives, the wagyu carpaccio, steak, steak, steak ! the only thing that I didn't love this time was that the Chef changed the mussels sauce it used to be like white creamy wine garlic sauce and know is a red tomato sauce with chorizo, the flavor was too strong! Overall everything was amazing, the ambience and the place is perfect !

This was our 2 year anniversary. If I could give 10 stars I would. The food, service. Beautiful restaurant. They gave us a special menu. Printed on top 2 year anniversary. We will be back in Dec. They will have the French onion soup.

It's always an amazing time at Cowboy Star! We go every year for anniversary and they never disappoint! Food is delicious, service is great and it's an elegant atmosphere!

Great service and food. However our table was too small in the middle of the restaurant and felt too crowded and noisy. Plates good portion for 2-3. It was a birthday celebration and was surprised the restaurant didn't offer a free small dessert.

The overall experience was delightful!! It was my birthday and they had a special menu wishing me a HBD and from drinks to dessert (special bday dessert:) the flavors and pairings were delicious!

Came during a birthday trip to SD - the restaurant went above and beyond making our experience unforgettable. Our server was friendly, attentive and made excellent food and drink recommendations. Steaks (aged ribeye for me, filet mignon for my girlfriend) were perfectly cooked and drinks were great. The banana pudding for dessert was delicious and they took extra care with the presentation for the birthday celebration. They even printed us custom menus wishing me a happy birthday. Amazing experience all around and would love to return next time we're in San Diego.

We had mixed feelings at first. The hostess was amazingly friendly and continued her great service throughout the evening by coming to our table to give us Happy Anniversary menus. But we were initially disappointed with the service at the bar while waiting for our table. The bartender was short, slightly rude, and not friendly at all. We had to prompt them for drink menus and they seem too busy and slightly annoyed to help us so we didn't order anything. But once we got to our table .... the service was excellent. The food was great and we enjoyed the rest of the experience on our Anniversary night.

Cowboy Star was amazing. It is an upscale steak house that has a midwest/country theme. The food was excellent and the service very good. We spent $400 for three people, which is on the high end. But to me, it was worth it.

Amazing overall! We loved the mussels and ribeye were outstanding! Perfect for a date night or any other celebration! Will definitely be revisiting!

I absolutely love this place, the lighting is perfectly dim but not dark and the food quality is top tier.

I've been to most of the top restaurants in SD, and I have to say, Cowboy Star has the best steak so far! The service was top notch and my Old Fashion was perfectly balanced! I recommend getting a seat at the kitchen table.

The food was AMAZING definitely worth the price! All the chefs, waiters, waitresses 10/10!!

What vegetarian would schedule her birthday dinner at a steakhouse? This one, if it's Cowboy Star. And if you are going in the near future (late summer 2025), take advantage of the corn soup experience. SO good. As was the corn tortelloni. Meat-eater husband always enjoys the wagyu flank steak. We also had the roasted cauliflower, which was perfectly done and served with a tasty pistachio hummus. They are attentive and the food is consistently good.

I enjoyed every moment of my dinner for my anniversary. They customized the menu to say “Happy 7th Anniversary. They are so thoughtful and the service is amazing. The food was exquisitely delicious. All good things with Cowboy Star.
