Food was good. Service was ok. Check your receipt for additional charges for tips for the kitchen staff. Parking wasn't too difficult to find at this location.

wanted to try a seafood boil. Crab hut gave me food poisoning within an hour after eating it. My husband got food poisoning also. They also charge you 18% fee for service on top of that, they also ask you to give them another tip. $230 of seafood just to get food poisoning. I would give a negative review if I could

Negative stars. I'm currently dying from food poisoning. :)
Be warned: rude and very minimal service and it's a MANDATORY 18% GRATUITY charge is implemented here. It's CRAP HUT. Go dine somewhere else if you want good food, service, and reasonable price!
Horrible experience at Mira Mesa branch on Valentines evening.
I responded to the server that's it's been more than 10yrs I have not been there. Didn't even mention to us that menu us via QR code, which was printed small on the corner of the napkin holder. We just had to look around our table/around us to figure that out.
45+ mins wait to be seated then 30+ mins more wait and our seafood boil still havent been served. The dozen oyster and chicken tender basket came out first and that was it. We understand waits and especially on a Vday /Friday night but theirs was pretty unreasonable. The table we were seated at was available and empty the entire time we were waiting.
Staff gets annoyed when asked nicely about order status. All they say is "we are busy." Later on, another staff (male) came to our table and said "we have a lot of to-go order to fulfill". Then when got asked about 18% AUTOMATIC GRATUITY when no service is being provided, GM (the male staff) IMMEDIATELY refused to serve us and kicked us out (special needs toddler and kid, a senior, and 2 adults). GM did not even attempt to provide proper customer service to the situation and just became rude right away. Not only we waited long only to end up starving, we were also embarassed by the GM infront of staffs and other customers dining in there. My bf still planned to pay for the oyster and the tenders so he was at least trying to finish it but soon as he reached the platter, the GM went behind my bf and grabbed the the oyster tower slighlty hitting my bf on the face.
We then just left. A busy Chinese restaurant across the street got us seated in less than 15 mins and all 5 dishes got served fresh in 3mins by friendly staff - without mandatory 18% charge but I wholeheartedly tipped way more than that!
It was a very bad choice to give this place a try again. I should have stucked with Boiling Crab because Crab Hut is such a CRAP HUT.
2 days later me and my fam just went to our usual/fav Boiling Crab - it's like day and night comparison. Crap hut charges at least $23-26/lb on items whole at BC it's around $15-$17. Staffs at BC are waayyy friendlier, attentive, and nicer and so as the ambience of the place. And of course, tastes way better! Crap hut does not offer non-spicy option BC does. I'm not paid nor sponsored by BC just layin it out here to point out to consumers where you will have better value for you money and way better dining experience.
Just avoid crab hut.
Oh and i messaged crab hut on IG the day after, all they can say is "thanks for reaching out. We'll inform the team." - not even a hint of apology lol smdh.

I can never get served properly here idk if its because im hispanic but I always feel judged and some how can never dine in even though there last call is at 9:15 very dissatisfied & disappointed
Our service was good however the food not so much. My fish and chips were plentiful however the taste was meh. My hubby said his shrimp scampi was good. The coke was syrupy. The price is a great deal more than I would normally see. I also disagree with the forced gratuity. In all honesty just go to a different place

My friend took me here for their happy hour special. We sat in the bar area and had a very nice waiter. I ordered a glass of merlot and it was not very good. I ended up having a blood orange lager that was delicious after.
The restaurant was not busy on a weeknight so it was relatively quiet. We had the popcorn shrimp, crab poppers, and sausage sliders. We like the popcorn shrimps but will skip the sliders next time.
We ordered the Bucket for One combo and the SNS (Snow Crab and Shrimp) bucket. Both were perfect for 1-2 people. I really like the huge amount of garlic and all the flavors in the sauces. So yummy!
We also ordered the jambalaya. It was a huge proportion and we only ate about ⅓ of it. It'll be perfect for lunch the next day.

18% automatic service charge. Happy hour was good, and ended up being $50 per person for appetizers and drinks.

As far as seafood boils go this is probably one of the better places in the area, and the food and sauce is generally pretty good. It is *very* expensive though - for someone with a large appetite you can expect to spend ~$200 per person, and that's not even including the mandatory 18% tip.

18% service charge????
Food was meh. Hidden service fee was BS. Then they had the nerve to ask for a tip. Will never return and tell my friends. Stop being slimy

My party and I had multiple items: crab and shrimp combo, lobster boil, and several snow crab and king crab orders. We got the full house seasoning and 1/2 med spiciness. Everything was great and the flavoring never disappoints. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because you have to order bread on the side, and I feel like the sausage and potatoes have been cut back. They now tack on an 18% service fee.
