Tortillas are doughy and condiments need to be chopped more, the Al pastor flavor is good, try a better corn/ flour percentage for the tortillas

The Crack Taco Shop might not be the most famous in San Diego, but the Crack tacos here are fabulous! Their claim to fame are their signature tri tip beef tacos, using the San Diego famous Crack Tri Tip beef that is specially seasoned and marinated to perfection.

$5 Crack Taco beef tri-tip roast is juicy, tender, and flavorful, with a rich beefy taste and a nice crust for extra texture. Generous spreads of fresh rich green guacoale tops the tasty beef, all of this happieness is wrapped in freshly made tortillas that are made on premise. Pick of one of fresh zesty salsas to perfect it!

$5 Al Pastor is nearly as delicious as the tri tip. The sweet pineapple infused pork meat is tender and juicy with a nice crisp char on some bites for that extra sensation. These also come covered in the gradiouse guacaolme and wrapped in the same freshly made in house tortillas.

I love the Dia Los Muertos themed décor throughout, very Mexican, very San Diegan, and very very awesome.

Been here on multiple occasions and the California burrito is always consistent and delicious!! Also they have a killer green salsa. Employees are really cool. And the music is cool as well.

I am very picky with my mexican food, due to my mom's cooking and I have to say this place serves authentic Mexican food and with high quality ingredients. That is hard to find. Do not look further. Crack taco shop is the spot. I had their Tacos and was amazed. The birria Taco specifically was mouth watering. I look forward to trying more of their menu. Recommended 1000%.

They have done everything right. We sampled about 9000 calories worth of food and every bite was amazing. Everything tasted really clean and fresh.

Surf and Turf burrito, absolutely amazing, don’t miss out on this one.
Crack Nachos, fish taco, pollo asado, all were divine. We lucked out and got to meet one of the owners who was working tonight, really nice guy, you can tell how much he cares about the product he puts out.

Looking forward to trying the rest of their menu and being a regular here!!!

Joe at the front of house always has such an amazing attitude, and this team really cares about the quality of product they put out.

Each bite explodes with flavor.

Highly recommend the Crackafornia Burrito (Cali B with WORLD FAMOUS Cardiff Crack) with some churros on the side!

I ordered the regular tri tip burrito to go. It was hot so i didnt open til i got home which is a half hour away and it was NOT what i ordered. So disappointed. Im not a breakfast burrito person and thats what i got even though i ordered the regular tri tip burrito. Make sure to check your order before you leave!

I liked my experience here, and felt the food was very good and enjoyable. The Crack Taco Shop has a spacious interior for solo eaters as well as employees on lunch break. The staff was very welcoming, attentive, and warm. I think for the price, a little more material and flavor (a special interest or something special) could have been added into the tacos and would be appreciated. This isn't factored into my review's rating, but there was a slight hiccup between the first half of the order and the second, and I'm sure it was an anomaly.

*VEGETARIANS PLEASE READ* Went last night, been coming here for a couple years and we enjoy it. Not sure if it's under new management but last night as we were ordering I was choosing between tacos, and apparently they use beef tallow in their potato tacos.

The employee said he does have a nopales taco for a plant based option that's not cooked in meat. Appreciated the employees transparency, but not sure if every employee will offer that information, or someone looking to enjoy a potato taco may have sensitivity to meat or avoid for religious purposes would think to ask.

Their food is good. I'm a pescatarian so I usually will go for their fish taco. Tortillas are very fresh and they are open late which is a plus. The service is quick and the food is clean and so is the restaurant itself. However they are no longer doing the taco Tuesday plate deal. I still recommend this place because the quality is good, but if you have allergies/sensitivities/restrictions you should ask about your food.
