Ordered French toast and Americana coffee for breakfast. The toast was soaked and dripping in maple syrup rather than some syrup on and additional syrup in cup. So it was disgustingly sweet. Minimum cream and no fruits to enhance appeal. Portion was big.
Coffee tasted like Drip coffee and tasteless.
Waitress was rough and lazy.
Only good thing is beautiful ocean views of scripps beach from 11th floor.
I don't recommend this restaurant for food or service. La Jolla has several other restaurants with ocean views

Where do I begin? This isn’t your average hotel restaurant serving just hotel guests. This is a million-dollar, five-star dining experience with stunning views! It deserves to be a destination in itself, attracting visitors specifically for the food. From the ambiance, music, and jazz nights to the exceptional cuisine and staff, everything is top-notch.
Make sure to ask for the complementary bread, to die for.. we ordered it twice.
Plus, you get validated parking! Enjoy a meal in La Jolla without the hassle of street parking—just luxurious convenience!
This is my 3rd time at the place. Never disappoint!

Not informing not all menu is served at specific times. Came at happy hour to eat regular menu.
Bellboy carrying food without cover on same elevator with trash troller. I told the bellboy and his excuse was fast drop off. It was terrible seeing a food being exposed that way.
One only terrible elevator. Long wait. Sharing space with trash. Terrible.
Good view. Unfortunately, not caring as should.
Disappointing. 1 star service.
Left without consume.

I’ve been there a few times for breakfast as I stayed at the hotel. Food is Mid, wouldn’t be worth it without the hotel credit. Their salmon burger was good but often their breakfast dishes are missing flavor or overdone dishes (like French toast that’s fries). They don’t include salt or pepper or any hot sauce or anything for eggs. Also open late for breakfast (7am, most hotels breakfast open at 6-6:30). Waitress also sarcastically said “TYSM” after seeing no tip on a TO GO order which is absolutely not expected. Overall, mid food and over priced. Hit or miss on breakfast.

Both the hotel and restaurant appear quiet and hanging on by a thread. Very limited menu, no desserts! One very capable woman was hostess and server. However, including us, there were only four tables occupied.
Oof. Where do I start?
1)Lousy design & acoustics… no music playing… weird booth seating that is 2” too low and doesn’t allow you to get into the booth without moving the booth & table.
2) 30 minutes for a cocktail even though the place is 1/2 full.
3) 25 min for a glass of water
4) one dish for a vegetarian & nothing for a vegan
5) 5 stale chips and 3 small bites of yellowtail for their “tostada” for $28 ?
great view… but that’s about it ;)
Bummer. Dropped $150 for 2 cocktails and 2 appetizers

I was there with a group of 5 for Restaurant Week. Unfortunately we were seated at a table right next to a “private” group area with only a filmy curtain separating us. As that party ramped up, we could not hear one another at all, basically had to lip-read. I don't think the party was overly rowdy, but the physical set up was terrible for noise. We love the location and have been there many times under different ownership. Food/service was excellent and we may try again but be very specific about seating!
Sea and Sky is a great experience. The food was excellence and had a great theme and story. My wife ordered the restaurant week deal which was an appetizer, salmon, and Chocolate mousse. It was a great dish. My son ordered the Burger and fries. We ordered the oysters as our appetizer and Dennis our server gave us a wonderful description and story about the oysters theme. The oysters were served with a delicious green pesto sauce and a white bubbly foam. Dennis said the chef wanted to recreate the crashing waves on the shore Which it did for me. As I was instantly transported to the sea shore (which I also had a wonder view of) I could only think how infinitely creative a dish that was. I then ordered the Grilled red snapper for which Dennis described as "imagine cooking your red snapper over a camp fire on the shore." As I received my dish I couldn't help but be transported to the sea again. I was so inspired that I started eating my grilled snapper with my hands. The stories defiantly enhanced the theme of the dishes to be sure. However, Be Prepare to pay full retail. Sea and sky is not a bad value for an Upscale/casual dining experience but it does cost a little more than some of my other C/U restaurants I frequent . In fact they didn't want to leave a dime on the table. My wife and I ordered regular coffee after our two drinks and they were not on our bill when it was presented. I handed our server my credit card along with the bill for which he stated "Oh, I still have to add in the coffee's." At that point I would have just comp'd the coffee's. But hey business is business. Lastly I made reservations on open table and noted a "Celebration" which it was my sons 100th subscriber on youtube. It wasn't acknowledged at all. It would be nice for the manager to be on top of those details. At full retail it would be nice to get a scoop of ice cream or something. Overall great experience. Sea and sky will be earning my future restaurant dollars.
I asked for a table by the window for my birthday when I made the booking, but we didn’t get one. The waiter took a long time to come over, and there was a strange smell coming from the kitchen. The cocktails weren’t good either — they had more ice than drink, and they didn’t taste nice. None of our expectations were met, but the only good thing was the view.

The only reason I’m giving two stars is because of the view, which was beautiful. Unfortunately, everything else was disappointing. The cocktails were underwhelming, with a massive ice cube that took up too much space and diluted the already not-so-tasty drinks.
Service was slow, and the waitstaff didn’t seem particularly attentive or helpful. Most importantly, we had specifically requested a table by the window for a friend’s birthday but never received it. The hostess was rude and dismissive when we inquired about it, which left a bad impression.

Wow
Excellent service
Amazing views
Perfect tasting food
The steak was amazing !!!
Dennis, our waiter was so awesome and attentive and super sweet likeable guy!
Kat, the hostess, was so nice and answered ally questions with kindness.
We called beforehand and she didn't know it was us and on the phone she was so polite.
Hands down, if you want to have a nice friendly dinner with a view of the sunset over La Jolla shores, you need to come here!!!

Had a wonderful experience at Sea & Sky. Food was delicious— the scallops were tender and accompanying polenta velvety and flavorful. The steak was amazing and perfectly cooked. Service was top-notch and you can’t beat the ocean views.
We went back the next day for happy hour and had the burger as well as the tuna burger. Both were great as well and the price was a great value.

We waited for our food for so long. We arrived at 7:30pm and left at close to 10pm. There was about 40 min between plates. We were so hungry! The sizes of the food were so small and the taste wasn't impressive at all... so bland and boring. The space was so loud with people's conversations bouncing all around the room. Not a good experience. The price not worth the food or the experience.
Was really surprised how empty the restaurant was for being inside a hotel. Maybe it was because we dined on a weekday. The views are beautiful and the menu had breakfast, lunch, and dinner offerings. My friend ended up having an allergic reaction, which was unfortunate. Hard to know if it was a result of anything she ate.
Server was very slow, didn't seem to be focused on our group of 6. Our appetizers showed before the drinks did. Food was okay and just everything took too long. We were there for 3.5 hours.
