This place is pretty good! I got a chai tea and tried some sort of almond flour cake or almond lb cake? The people there were nice and I received my drink very quickly
It definitely felt fairly sugar heavy but it was still pretty good

The coffee here really is phenomenal, but I'm new to Dark Horse, so can somebody tell me... is "poor customer service" part of their brand? As a barista myself, I'm naturally joyful with our customers even on our busiest days... I can hardly get any acknowledgment from these gals when I try to ask them questions or simply smile in their direction.

Highly recommended for coffee lovers!
They offer really good food and have amazing coffee beans for brewing at home. .
My #1 place for coffee, no doubt.

Bought a 16oz Latte and it was watery, bland, and could hardly taste any coffee. We came to try out the coffee as we wanted to get some new beans to try at home, so we were disappointed. No better than an average Starbucks. Don't bother and go to somewhere else.

Small walk up spot, some seats inside but more benches outside. Coffee is fantastic and very strong! They also had some alternative brevs like tea and sodas and small pastries.

The best coffee in SD.
Been going to their Normal Heights location since it opened. I don't use any other bean for my brews. The best lattes and matcha lattes. Their cold brew is phenomenal.

As a newcomer to the area, I decided to explore local coffee shops and stumbled upon Darkhorse. It's evident that they have their regulars, as I noticed during my morning walks. Typically, there's a short line of people descending their concrete steps. While the lack of indoor or outdoor seating led me to rate the atmosphere four out of five stars, it's clear that Darkhorse is a grab-and-go spot. Despite their limited food menu, they offer satisfying options for a quick breakfast. I tried their signature honey and cinnamon iced coffee, which was absolutely delicious. Both fellow customers and employees were friendly and patient, contributing to a pleasant experience. Notably, their coffee isn't bitter, and their large sizes are comparable in price to a Venti with extra shots at a popular coffee chain.

We love this place and exclusively buy our beans form Dark Horse and have since it opened. Happily, I enjoy their other beverages (love their chai) as well as the donuts, always pop in when I have something to do at the post office next door. Everyone is nice and chill here, and though it's obviously a really tiny place it's a great vibe. Get the best friend blend—perfect for espresso machine or drip coffee.

Love this place in downtown Chula Vista. Coffee always great, simple but good food offerings.

We had a $3 “drip” coffee and a $6 salted maple iced latte, both were undrinkable. The “drip “ coffee was drained from the dregs of a vat of coffee, that must of been there for awhile, yesterday? We had intestinal issues after as well, no bueno,
