Excellent breakfast or lunch spot! Plenty of choices on the menu, super friendly wait staff, and loved the Hawaiian food. Will be returning anytime I come to SD.

Let me preface that the wait staff was so kind and accommodating to my family and 6 week old baby. But after that it was all down hill from there.
We got the bomb hawaiian breakfast bowl and the nutty nitro.
The bomb so greasy and salty that it was close to being inedible. The fries tasted as if it was a previously frozen fries.
My wife's bowl was the opposite tho. Under seasoned rice was dry. The the Portuguese sausage was just average.
But I will say if this was a coffee shop the nutty nitro I would say 10 stars out of 5. We loved the creamyness of the coffee it had a Vietnamese coffee style taste which my wife and I both love. And when you get the little coconut flakes it was a nice little treat. But for 10 bucks hard to justify to get that for just one person. But the size was perfect to share between two people
The inside had a cute vibe to it. But boy the amount of flies was awful. The whole time we were trying to wave off the flies, by the window sill there were 4 dead flies. My wife and i won't be coming back. Again nothing against the waitress and the coffee

Stopped by for breakfast. Young lady was very friendly. Had 3 egg omelet with canadian bacon and bacon. Omelet stuffed with meat. All the food tasted great. Recommend having breakfast here.
Only one bathroom for the entire facility. The patio wasn't the cleanest (spiderweb in the corners) and the food was just average. Great coffee, though

I love stopping here with my pup after dog beach to hang on the shady patio and get her a doggie meal and breakfast for me. Hawaiian inspired brunch vibes with an extensive drink menu. I got the iced coffee with umi (purpleyness shown in photo) with coconut milk and cane sugar is so yummy!

The coffee was good, the food was ok, but it seemed like when we went, they were understaffed. They did have 2 more waitresses show up halfway through our breakfast, so I do truly believe that that was the issue.

The service is horrendous. Been here 3 times over a year the service the worst I’ve experienced in OB. One time is excusable but three bad experiences is a pattern.
One example, The restaurant was empty and I asked to see a menu the waitress rolled her eyes and took 10 min to deliver the menu. The whole meal had that energy. So I tipped her 10% to which she followed me and my family out to the side walk and stared us down as we drove away. Slow is to be expected for an island grill by the beach in SD , I guess but Wth is that?
For a empty restaurant the service is extra slow But what’s worse is it’s also compounded with a lack of hospitality and even worse a meanness. The aloha spirit is no where to be found.
I worked in fine dining for over a decade if the restaurant owner sees this message you can literally message me for actionable feedback. Bc of the location and the food style I want this restaurant to work but there’s no way I can support it as it is now based on my continued exp there.

Surprisingly great place for authentic Hawaiian plate lunches. Very casual but fun place, kona cold brew was great, and the Loco Moco and mac salad were spot on.

A relaxing little spot for breakfast or lunch. We went twice this past week while visiting San Diego. The lanai is dog-friendly. My wife adored the crab melt so much she ordered it both times. She loves her affogato too. The Banana bread french toast is delicious, as is their traditional french toast. The fried potatoes with their breakfast plates are awesome. Shout-out to Giselle (with a hard G) who waited on us both times. She's a lovely waitress and made a point of befriending the dogs who visited. Thank you Giselle for being a part of our lovely Vacation

A nice dog friendly café with decent selections. Average prices and friendly staff. Would not recommend margaritas but other cocktail was good.

Chill music was perfect, not too loud and just the right tune to feel free. The food is delicious, fresh and hot! It's a reasonable price. The drinks are bomb as well. This is probably the best place we've ate thus far on our vacation. It beats all the expensive places we've been. A must try place for sure.
