Well. I neglected to read the reviews. Ate quick while getting some paint mixed. Overall, the bread was fine, and the diet coke was great... but the green spinach / chicken curry made me sick. So, on my first bite i noticed the meat tasted old. Kinda like a jerkey texture that broke apart. Not like fresh meat. And it tasted funny. I swallowed it and backed it up with another piece of meat that was fine. 18 hours later, let's just say it was not a good experience.

It seems to me that they took leftovers from the day before. And mixed them with fresh stock... but they did this for days on end. And during the night, it gets put back in the fridge.

You can't do this without risking some meat getting spoiled. They definitely need a visit from the health department. Eat at your own risk. Ill never be back.

I always get their samosas. Ended up catering 75 for a party. They were on time and they had plenty of chutney too.
“These are the best samosas. I’m going to have a second! 🤩😄” - mom from Mumbai.

Delhi Kitchen is hands down my favorite indian restaurant in San Diego. The food is great, the prices are affordable, and the customer service is the best I’ve experienced anywhere here. The staff is always so welcoming and kind, making every visit feel so special. Definitely a comfort place!

DO NOT EAT HERE.

They present one price on their online menu then charge you a higher price in person when you pay. On their website menu, an entree is $11.99 but when you go to pay in person they charge you $16.99. They then blame you for using the menu that is on THEIR website. That is not the only price inconsistency. Good luck if you are ordering on the phone as they won’t tell you your total price.

Their unwillingness to fix this as well as their horrible demeanor when confronted makes it feel like you are part of a scam.

Excellent experience overall. I ordered the 3 item platter which includes rice, naan and yogurt and a samosa on the side. The dishes were all tasty with the right level of spices. The samosa (not pictured) came with 2 chutneys. The portion size was amazing— the box was filled to the brim — good for 2 meals. Service was very good. The lady took care to wrap foil over the box so nothing spilled. It’s a smaller joint so the atmosphere was fine. Outstanding value for money. Definitely recommended.

the chana masala was good, but i’ve def had better. really make sure to specify no dairy/ghee when ordering. the portions were kinda small and everything had to be ordered separately (roti and rice not included with entree) so it ended up being over $23 for not that much food Updated from previous review on 2024-12-28

Below average steam table buffet at lunch. Frozen vegetables used in recipes. Tables were dirty. Owner was on the phone entire time I was there and had to be prodded to take my order and to clean the tables. Soda machine was broken, NO BATHROOMS FOR CUSTOMERS. Many better options out there.

Parking: Near a Trader Joes so very busy lot.

The worst Indian food I’ve ever eaten. The chicken tikka masala was rubbery, bland and watery. The spinach chicken had no flavor and a sparse amount of chicken. Veg curry had frozen vegetables with very small amount of flavor. Naan was bland. It’s no easy feat to make bad Indian food but they somehow did it. It’s no exaggeration on how bad the food is here.

This place is equivalent to an Indian Dhaba. Food is good. I always go there for lunch when shopping groceries nearby. As i observe, most people do takeouts.

This is a good, solid Indian food restaurant in a strip mall. I ordered Chicken Tikka Masala and Chicken Curry, Mango lassi and garlic naan. The naan was the thin style (I prefer the thicker). The food was all very good. I'll be back!
