Had the tacos, Caldo de res and shrimp burrito. Liked the adobado taco and jalapeno salsa but everything else was mediocre. The burrito only had a few shrimps. The soup was bland.

I came to Don Ramon’s for the first time last night. I was very surprised by how good my tacos were. But first—the store was immaculately clean, and they had a hand wash station, self-service water station, and salsa bar with 6 different homemade salsas! Epic!
I ordered a quesabirria and a shredded beef taco. The consommé was really good, and the quesabirria was amazing! Paired with the chunky red and the salsa verde—it was awesome. The shredded beef taco was pretty good, too, and went really well with the regular red salsa.
Overall, great first experience at this taco shop and I was pleasantly surprised by the level of the food and salsas. I definitely recommend it!
Updated: I came back recently to try out the veggie burrito. It was pretty good, though I liked the tacos I ordered previously a bit more. It was fresh, but just not as flavorful as I’d have preferred. I need to try out a few other items still, especially the breakfast burrito and California burrito.

My daughter and I enjoyed a Surf California Burrito. It had a good mix of Shrimp and Asada with Cheese, Salsa and Fries. The Burrito was really large and steaming hot. We took a red salsa and Guacamole Salsa. The red salsa was spicy with a good taste. The Guacamole salsa was very mild and I didn't get much taste from it. The Burrito was $12. What was shocking were the tacos and priced at $6.09/each. Overall, the food we had was great and the price point was great as well.

Definitely NOT a 4.4 star rating as Google states. Food is good but not great. I have tried the fish tacos, carne asada burrito, al pastor.... Maybe I need to try more things but as of now my rating is 4.1

Big Burritos, the potatoes were delicious in my Veggie, the weight of these Burritos is half the story!!! The ladies had pollo asada, we all liked the spicy red salsa the most!

My california was pretty dry and the cheese wasn't melted and the meat tasted kind of bland. The carne asada fries were actually not too bad though.

I actually live in Chula Vista, I come over here to study at the living room. I'm really picky with taco shops. My favorite is colimas off university. Beautiful burritos really nice stuff. But I got to give credit to this place, I was really hungry, I was really grumpy. And I ordered a breakfast burrito and it was so good the burrito was made really nice tight, the way I like it. Not thrown together.
And another notable thing if anybody is a fan of bean and cheese and rice burritos. Nowhere I go does anybody ever make a bean and cheese and rice burrito to my liking. I grew up on bean and cheese and rice burritos. The burritos is NOT supposed to be all floppy and thrown together. Bean and cheese and rice burritos are very mushy, so you have to roll it really tight to keep it put together otherwise it's just falls apart. Most important the time at other place, they don't put enough beans not enough rice or you'll spend $8 a BC and R and it's really small. So asked the cashier about what she thought and she said they do a good job. Sure as shit they knocked it out the park and made me one of the best bean and she's a rice burritos I've had it in years. It actually reminded me of a Taco shop I grew up eating when I was little. It was rolled super tight, the portions were perfect for a 9.00 burrito. I was really happy. That was my first time here
When came in again I was wondering if it was going to be that good as the first time. It absolutely was. Same expirience and I came a month ago.
The cashier was the same girl both visits and she's really sweet and very pleasant, the whole place is awesome it gives me a family-owned vibe and I absolutely love it. I can hear the cooks in the background when I was at the window, and I could just hear and they're really nice and friendly and it sounded like they're in just a good mood. Which also must add so how good your food is going to taste right so that made me happy.
Taco shops don't really get reviews that often and I think this place deserves the credit.

Hands down one of the best taco spots I have found in the San Diego area. I have ordered everything from burritos, tacos, soups, nachos and even starters like the ceviche. Haven't ordered one item that was bad!

Food is great, didn't charge me for an add on. Tasted good and the lady was nice. Only draw back is it is smaller then the Chula Vista one, but overall better in every other aspect.

They close at 10:45 pm. Google is wrong. The fresh king is the best burrito.

This place has never done me wrong for a quick burrito or snack and a drink. Their creamy green salsa is the best around too!
Vegetarian options: Veggie fries, veggie chips, veggie burrito, potato rolled tacos, and more
Dietary restrictions: I’m vegetarian and they have more options than usual for me

Usually get takeout here so can't comment on the indoor experience. Standard taco shop, meaning the carne asada is good, and so is the beans and rice. I recommend the Don Roman Burrito if you like surf and turf, cause the shrimp is good.
