This review pains me to write, because I really wanted it to be better. I just want someone to buy this place and takeover because poor Baba needs a break and the products really tell it.I came here to try the vegan donuts and it's a small, unassuming shop in a strip mall. The man was behind the counter waiting for customers and quickly came to attention. I ordered a dozen variety of donuts, and he named them off as he put them in the bag. He did mention some were fresher than the others but I didn't realize what this meant. I understood when I got home. The idea behind some of the donuts was great, there was a lavender frosted donut, a Homer Simpson donut, Thai tea, and other various flavors. The icing was pretty much the only edible part, the donuts themselves were hard, possibly stale, and just overall inedible. I even had an apple fritter which lacked flavor and almost anything that made it an apple fritter. I was seriously disappointed and it breaks my heart because it seems like a family business and they put work into their products, it just seems maybe sales aren't good enough or they don't turnover as quickly as they hope.I won't go back but again I plea with someone to take over and fulfill the potential this place has.

I really want to love Donut Panic more. It's a family operation and perfectly nails the casual hangout vibe I've wanted to see in bars and eateries across the country. They have a couch & armchair with a coffee table full of board games (check their facebook page for game night schedules), as well as traditional small tables. Father & daughter both recognize regulars and chat with them about all sorts of topics, which is phenomenal. I also appreciate that they have vegan donuts alongside traditional ones and non-dairy options for coffee mix-ins. However, I haven't been wowed by the donut texture. I've tried both vegan and regular at different times of day, and while eating a lackluster donut is still no misery, they've been a bit of a letdown. I will probably keep snagging a donut when I pop over to PurpleMint next door or get my car serviced down the street, but wouldn't go out of my way unless it's for the community at one of their evening events.

Their donuts here are for vegan and non-vegans! Visited 2 June, National Donut Day, and received a free donut! We only had their vegan varieties but found them to be tasty, with a wide variety of flavors. The Apple Fritter was a bit crispy and seemed overcooked, so that may have just been that batch. The others were also quite tasty but a little on the chewy side. Very helpful and friendly proprietor who went through all the available varieties. This shop is very close to other restaurants that offer a wide variety of vegan dishes. I encourage you to try Donut Panic and taste for yourself.

Love their vegan donuts! So delicious and perfectly soft! Sometimes they have "day old" donuts for 1/2 which is awesome! I no longer live in SD, so I can't wait to visit!

I was warned the salted maple fritter was "very crispy". Uhh, no, burnt...badly. Also, pretty pricey.

This place is a dive. There's junk everywhere and the donuts aren't fresh. I guess if you're vegan it'll accommodate with vegan donuts, but if not, go elsewhere.

I'm usually pretty generous when it comes to reviews but I was quite disappointed with this donut shop. The owner was very nice which makes this review even more difficult. But I got a dozen vegan donuts and most of them were extremely tough and dry to the point that they almost seemed stale. They lacked flavor and some of the ones with filling seemed like cheap products were used. There were quite a few donuts on the shelf with I arrived in the late afternoon. I wonder if these donuts are thrown out at night or if they're reused the next day (which seems more possible). This could be the reason for their stale taste. My recommendation is if donuts don't sell, make less variety and stick to a few good ones that can/will sell.

We had a totally killer raspberry frosted yeast raised donut. I’d go back for it in a heartbeat.

Give this place a try for sure! Saw mixed reviews and do not agree with some of the lower ones. Bit into a maple coconut and it was soft and a wonderful cake donut. The flavors are super fun and diverse, many Bavarian creams, Thai tea, maple 'bacon' and for $2.08 a donut (for a dozen) it is a very reasonable price, especially for vegan donuts. (I've seen other donut shops with $3-$5 each) the donuts look homemade and small batch (that is a good thing!) And I was very happy tasting them. Don't shy away if you don't like "vegan" food, they taste the same as regular donuts. Very friendly person working who told us all the flavors and was patient with us, convenient location with a big parking lot too. Will be back!

The vegan donuts here are great but the few times we've came here most of the time they are old and stale but when they are fresh they are absolutely to die for.

The store owner is adorable. He will gladly tell you all of the vegan flavors. They have a wide variety, and carry numerous vegan options everyday. My absolute favorite is the lemon-glazed jelly donut! I do recommend going earlier in the day to get the donuts when they're most fresh.
