Draft House Belmont Park

Draft House is located right on Belmont Park Boardwalk and has a direct view of the ocean. The smell of the salty air, the sound of crashing waves and the kiss of an ocean breeze makes this place perfect for relaxed dining. Unfortunately, the hostess was meandering, looking busy without being busy, oblivious that there were patrons that needed to be seated. When she finally made it to the hostess stand, she was lackluster and apathetic. Without uttering a single word, she walked away toward an empty table holding menus, which we only assumed was for us. We followed her to the table and like a soundless fart in the wind, she was gone. Thankfully, our waiter was the complete opposite of the hostess. He was friendly, attentive and efficient. My daughter ordered their chicken fingers with fries and I had their fish and chips. Both the chicken and the fish were incredibly bland. Breading and frying it just isn’t enough, it needs to be seasoned too. The fries however, were flavorful. Paid about $60 (with tip). I may come back to enjoy the view and have some drinks, but definitely wouldn’t be the first place I’d go.

Our experience at Draft was drab. The waitress acted as though she didn't want to work that night. It took forever to get someone to take our order. I had to signal for a busboy to find our waitress and when she came, she didn't apologize for the wait nor was she friendly. We ordered fried pickles as an appetizer and batter was fried so hard it was eating it. I ordered 5he salmon which was delicious along with the broccolini but the crispy potatoes were soggy. Now good. My husband stated his burger was cold but the fries were good. I made this reservation on Open Table from NC to really enjoy a good meal on the beach for vacation in San Diego. Very disappointing, indeed.

It's hard to argue with an oceanside view from a patio table. We had 4 people in our party. The drinks were good. Our 4 different meals ranged from fair to good, but certainly nothing special. We shared two very skinny pieces of delicious, but ridiculously overpriced cake. The overall experience was nice because of the ocean. The meal was nothing to make us want to come back again.

Ambiance can't beat it, love the ocean views. Took them 20 minutes and 2 trips to hostess station to get a server to acknowledge us. Food was ok but quite greasy, multiple sodas delivered that were out of syrup, etc. Hostess was nice, server was indifferent.

Excellent spot on the beach. The food was excellent and copious amounts were delivered. The ambience of the place is great and it helps that it’s right next to the beach. I did ding them one star because service was spotty at some point.
Bonus stars because they actually have cider . I’m not really a beer drinker so having a few options of cider is fantastic. They were fresh and delicious.
My husband enjoyed his burger, and I had the veggie burger, which was quite different, but really quite good for veggie burger.
We arrived there in time to watch the sun, go down while chatting with friends . I highly recommend it.
Important note:
If you’re walking on the beach and have Sandy feet like we did, you’ll have to use the showers that are right next-door to get all the sand off as you must have shoes on when you enter the restaurant.

Absolutely terrible. The service was horrible. Dropped our tea and walked away. We had to flag some one down to ask for sugar. Waited an HOUR for our food. I, again, had to flag someone down and ask for an update. I was told 5 mins and it ended up being 20. And our food was cold. No, we didn't complain. I didn't want to wait another hour. Besides, NO ONE CAME TO CHECK ON US. Yes, we still tipped because we aren't jerks. We will just call this a 60 dollar lesson learned.

Great location right on the beach. Be ware of the beach surcharge that they don't tell you about.

Hostess forgot we had reservation and when we did get seated, one of the chairs was dirty and wet. Wife sat in it and when I mentioned to hostess, she said “what do you want me to do about it”. I said how about cleaning it. Pretty rude on part of hostess. The seat was never cleaned so instead had to replace chair on my own. Server on the other hand was nice and friendly.
