Dreamboat is such a rad spot. Decorated like an old-fashioned diner, it has the menu to match it. We ordered the Breakfast Sandwich, the Cheeseburger, Wavy Fries and a Vanilla Milkshake. It was all to die for. The burger was the standout in our opinion- we wished we ordered two. GO TO DREAMBOAT!!! Updated from previous review on 2026-01-19
Admittedly, I did not know what chopped cheese was going in but it was absolutely amazing. Staff was friendly and all the food was delicious.
I hope the rest of the menu is better, but the breakfast sandwich is not worth buying nor eating. The hollandaise is slimy (too much xanthin or other thickener) and has a bitter note, I’d guess from including lemon pith along with the zest. It’s otherwise not very flavorful, resulting in an oddly bland sandwich despite the very spiced sausage. The sliminess of the sauce and its placement between cheese and bun means the whole sandwich slides around when you eat it, inevitably making a big mess. Updated from previous review on 2026-01-09
Amazing food and beatiful restaurant. For the price point, the service needs much improvement. The shared plates came to our table incredibly fast (within minutes of ordering the) and our drinks came much later. We then waited almost an hour for the main dishes. We ordered a bottle of wine before our entrees were served yet they finally brought the bottle of wine right as we were finishing up our meals. Just poor timing and poor service for an amazing and delicious restaurant.
Overall, the experience was good, with the food, ambience, and value earning solid three-star ratings and service standing out as very good. However, many items on the menu were unavailable, which limited the dining experience, and the music was overbearing, making conversation difficult despite the otherwise energetic atmosphere.
Went here to celebrate my significant other's birthday. Overall a decent experience. I love the speakeasy/ secret entrance. Once seated, the “love seat” table option is really really small and acted more as a bench in my opinion. They were unable to accommodate a larger space due to how busy it was, okay no prob. Plus, it sits you directly in front of another table with not the much space in between (waiters were constantly in the way when preparing our table side service) making things a little awkward. I will say the ambiance and music was on point! Loved it! My SO is vegan so I thought this fancy restaurant would impress since it caters towards fine dining. The crab cake appetizer was delicious and impressive. Everything else was eh, okay, but imo not worth the prices especially being al o carte. The final thing I'll say is after spending over $200 for this dinner, the owner came over as my SO was in the restroom before we were about to leave and asked if we'll be leaving soon because he had another set of guests he had to seat. This was rude in my opinion especially because the table in front of us were there longer and just paid their tab as well, he didn't mention anything to them. Because of that as a cherry topper, we will not be back.
I don't think I can ask for more from a restaurant—creative dishes with incredible flavor, mysterious decor and ambience, it's definitely an experience that makes you feel great you went out to eat (that's a very rare feeling for me). All that plus knowing nothing was needlessly tortured or killed for you to enjoy a meal. Can't beat it.
An incredible disappointment, just like their sister restaurant, Kindred. Great ambiance, amazing concept- terrible execution, which is a shame for san diego because all of the intention is present, and none of the follow through. Poor service, offensively long wait times for food, but still managed to come out cold. I had to ask every employee in the restaurant for water about 8 times before getting any. had to eat my salad with my hands because we couldn't find a service person to bring me a fork. Had to ask for share plates for apps. Soup came with no spoon so my daughter ate it with a fork until we could flag someone down, but even then it took another 10 minutes to get the spoon. Super sad experience for our holiday dinner for my Vegan daughter who now has stuck out at both kindred and vulture. The food was paced so poorly that most of us were done before the others food arrived/ we ended up cancelling last portion and asking for the check which was also wrong. I don't believe there were any support staff or bussers or runners and no manager on floor assisting over overseeing. The server was nice but unable to keep on top of all of her tables. I sincerely hope they adjust and get better because we need more vegan options in SD. we won't be returning to this restaurant group again, however.
Far exceeded my expectations!!!! The food was amazing, great music and the service was exceptional! We will be back for sure. It was wonderful to have a sit down dinner that was all vegan and we didn't have to worry about ingredients. Chefs kiss!!!
The food was delicious, a bit on the pricy side for the entrees. The service was pretty rough; our meal took a bit over two hours. We didn't get dessert because it was so slow we just wanted to go home by the end. The ambiance was very fun; the drinks were yummy. Overall, I probably wouldn't go back unless it was just for drinks.

Loved Vulture! Enjoyed the caviar service, wedge salad, and steak sampler, and bananas foster for dessert. The only small note would be that the sauce temps for the steak could be warmer, but otherwise, everything was fantastic! Decor was moody and cool. We even returned the next day for breakfast at Dreamboat. I wish we had a Vulture near us!
We love Vulture, but the service last night was super slow. Lovely people all around and fun atmosphere with great Vegan food
We had a great time at Vulture! We made a reservation for 4 at 6PM and they were perfectly on time. We loved how the menu didn't have too many options so we weren't overwhelmed and so they could make the few dishes they offer well. We ordered the cesar salad, potato pave, caviar service, french fries, french onion soup, brussel sprouts, Oscar, Diane, picatta, carrot cake, and baked alaska. Everything was so delicious and came out with great timing. The dishes we liked the most were definitely the caviar, Oscar, and carrot cake... if forced to choose! The ambiance was great. Calm and dark with chill vibes, and the service was also great. Everyone was so attentive and kind. We would absolutely come back here, easy. 10/10 highly recommend!
The food and drinks were delicious, and the ambiance with Christmas decor made it a memorable holiday date night.
Everything was absolutely perfect. From being greeted to our table to all our drinks , food and dessert. It was an incredible experience that I would love to have again.
