We came for a late lunch and a drink and had awful service. It took over 45 minutes of sitting before we got our drink, then finally we ordered at the 1.5 hour mark. After 2.5 hours we hadn't received our food so we got it to go. No apologies, no acknowledgement of the slow service, it felt like we were inconveniencing our waiter by being there. The restaurant wasn't even that busy, maybe half full. We tried this place after seeing that they won best margarita in San Diego, but I disagree. They might have the most tequila bottles on display but the margaritas were just ok, definitely not worth the awful service. If you're looking for good Mexican food or a tasty agave cocktail then head elsewhere

Showed up around 5:00 with no reservation. The place wasn’t busy yet so we were able to get right in. Everything we tried was outstanding. Mezcal with agave and berries, poblano quesadilla, short rib, trio of moles. You won’t find better! Our server had great recommendations, so make sure to ask for opinions.

Wow, this is a beautiful restaurant to drink a cocktail and eat some food. The ceviche and mezcal were amazing. I've heard the Mole is top notch, so I know what I'm getting next time I'm there.

This restaurant has been on my list of “must go to” places for years. Glad I finally made it. The ambiance is warm and fun. If you are a tequila lover (which I am not) the bar is stocked with many options. Same with mescal. I enjoyed sitting at the bar watching various concoctions come together.
Love this restaurant! They were very busy (Cinco de Mayo), but the experience was great. One issue was the number of vegetarian options listed on Open Table are not actually available. There are 3 options if you ask your server. Would recommend updating that as I was a bit surprised when I saw the menu at the restaurant!

We booked at table for cinco de mayo. This was our first visit. The restaurant is located 1 or 2 blocks from the main “old town” area. We reserved a patio table. The food was really good and we enjoyed “a few” flights of tequila and some gorgeous cocktails. The quality of the food and drink vs the price was exceptional. I highly recommend this restaurants for its quality, excellent servers, ambiance and overall experience. 5 stars

I have enjoyed this central Mexican tequila bar and restaurant many times. The food was great, as always, as were the drinks. Unfortunately, the waiter was not helpful or engaged, and seemed more set on 'turning ' our table than providing service we have long enjoyed. It was Saturday night, and they were busy, but the four of us were unanimous in our opinions.

Extremely long wait for drinks, appetizers, and food. By the time the food came, drinks were finished and food had gotten very cold. It seems that the restaurant was very understaffed as there was only one waiter for our entire section and everybody was waiting very long for their food. Would not recommend.

A cut above most Mexican restaurants in Old Town. Food was delicious and obviously made from scratch.
What they call patio seemed a bit cramped, but food was great.

Went for some vegetarian tacos and the server suggested to go with grilled cauliflower and provided tortillas with it. Also gave us hot sauce which was really good. Ambience is quite nice and overall liked the place.

Excellent service and food as usual. We were sat on the outdoor patio across from the entrance which I didn't even know existed (and I've eaten there over a dozen times). It was quiet and away from the more crowded Western patio and interior. It even made our experience better.
Loved the meal. Amazing array of
