Not what it used to be. Beans, salsa, chips and taquitos are consistent.

They have some of the best chips and their food was decent. The frozen tamales to cook at home were excellent.
The food here is amazing. I've been coming here for over 45 years, and every time I fly back to San Diego I have to make it a stop as I arrive or before I leave. The taquitos are the best, and their tortillas are always fresh. Plus, it's one of the only places I can still find Orange Bang!

It was taco Tuesday , had carne asada , adobada, chicken . The adobada had the most flavor. The asada and the chicken were also good. The Beef Chimichanga plate was very good also , just the right spice and excellent crispy tortilla wrap. 3 different salsa selections . You can pick up crispy chile flavored chips to go . Great spot to enjoy a tasty Mexican Meal .

My family and I came to explore San Diego then we got hungry, indio looked like a good place to eat at so we decided to go check it out. They reviews where pretty good so it have us high hopes. Though once we got there it lookes clean a nice atmosphere. But once we walked more down to the tables it was nasty. None of the tables where clean the floors where just as messy, the restrooms dirty, the trash by the foutian drinks was full. And best part was no one was in there before we sat down moments later more people started coming in and they still had not yet cleaned. The food was okay could of been better. I hope it was a one time thing 🙏

I get El Indio every sunday with my grandmother during my lunch break as I work down the street. Today I ordered the usual, the pricy but yummy 22 dollar Chicken Quesadilla. Our name gets called after 6-7 minutes waiting and get handed a togo burrito. I told the cashier I did not order this and got a shredded chicken quesadilla. She said ok and stood next to a lady on the phone who I assume the manager is, and sat there waiting for her to get off the phone(she seemd new so I dont want to be too harsh, but why do you need to wait 5 minutes to ask what to do) she then said she will call my name once my food is fixed (manager was still on the phone). After nearly 30 minutes, no name is called. I had to walk up and ask where my food was, and she asked if I wanted beans and chips on the side, and I said sure, but asked to make it To-Go because I was past my lunch break and needed to go back to work. The lady then hands me the SAME burrito, but this time it is not to-go. I took it put it in a box and left very upset. This was a weekly thing I go to with my grandmother, but this left a sour taste in our mouths and will not be returning anymore.
The food is pretty good don't get me wrong, but I cannot fathom how louzy the service was today. I never have left a review somewhere before and this was so annoying that I felt the need to come on here and post what happened.

After watch Guy Fiats Diners drive in band Dives I was so excited to come here. I drove 2.5 hours and didn’t eat all day. They have a free parking lot and outside seating. There was no wait and the people working were very friendly and helpful. The food was pricey and cold when we got served. The smell of the enchiladas sauce was so bad. The food was totally inedible. The salsa was ok but even the chips were not good. We got a refund and I woke up the next day with the worst case of food poisoning. The bathroom was dirty and smelled and they had flies in the windows flying around see pictures. Ten out of ten 100% do not recommend. Very sad I was so excited to come here.

Food was delivered promptly but there was no salsa, forks, or napkins. Hard to eat an enchilada with one’s finger.

I’ve been coming to this place for 16+ years and to see it go downhill like this… it makes me sad. The food is no longer good. The place was filthy. Food and napkins left on the table, no tables cleaned and all three workers were just chatting w/o even working. The server, Nevaeh kept rushing me and my husband while we were ordering and she messed up my order (bc she wasn’t even listening). I don’t live in SD, it takes me over an hour to get here, it was absolutely terrible. To see a place I spent a lot of my childhood at so so downhill, it breaks my heart. The taquitos were the only thing that saved this review.

The food was delicious. It wasn't super busy but still took almost an hour to get our food. Not sure if they were just short staffed?

I visited this historic restaurant. I tried the taquitos, which were very good. The California burrito was not as satisfying. The tortilla chips are excellent.
