I’ve tried a lot of burritos, but El Taco Rico’s are on another level! The tortillas are soft and fresh, the meat is seasoned perfectly, and every bite is packed with flavor. Their carne asada burrito is my favorite — juicy, flavorful, and always consistent. The salsas add just the right spice, and the service is friendly and fast.
If you’re craving authentic, delicious Mexican food, El Taco Rico is a must! 🌯🔥

El Taco Rico is a nightmare. The tacos were disgusting—rubbery meat, stale tortillas, watery salsa—and the place was filthy. To top it off, one of the workers smelled like alcohol and actually confronted me aggressively when I mentioned it. Easily the worst dining experience I’ve ever had.

I am completely dissatisfied and disappointed with this taco shop because I have come to realized they expose local food restaurants to the city. They go and take pictures of kids and minors included! Please have caution with the food, due to the fact that it is horrendous, and their service is horrible.

California Burrito Rankings (#17)
On a mission to rank San Diego’s California Burritos! I’m testing my 17th California Burrito in San Diego, and today’s spot is El Taco Rico.
The Product:
They served me a big, filling burrito. The sauce inside was tasty—I’m pretty sure the main ingredient was sour cream. Plenty of flavorful meat, and the most interesting part was the potatoes. They had a unique texture, almost like French fries hit with hot steam. The price is on the higher side compared to the city average. 4 out of 10
Service:
Friendly and attentive staff. 7 out of 10
Atmosphere:
Not much of a Mexican vibe. The TV was playing San Diego news in Spanish, and a few tables weren’t completely clean. 3 out of 10

Good service, the bad thing is that the roast beef fries doesn't have any meat, it's more potatoes than meat pieso, it's better to call it roast beef fries, I only know how to call it potatoes with cheese and picó de gallo, which is what they put the most in it

I am writing this review do not come to this location they are robbing you blind they advertise one price but are charging about 3-4 dollars more they have a sign stating that price will be raise no more than a 1.50$ when I brought it up to the cashier she pointed to the sign and I let her know that she was charging me way more than a dollar 1.50 false advertising basically charging you whatever they want. I ordered an order of 12 roll tacos plain the price they have up on their broad is 14.65 I was charged 18 dollars. Save yourself the trip and go somewhere else the tacos weren’t even that good. If anyone knows where I can formally reported this please reach out

Some of my food was not made correctly and when I called they didn't want to fix it or return my money. I wouldn't recommend this taco shop to my worst enemy. Also when I called to complain the manager or lady in charge was very rude and raised her voice to me.

This burritos here are way to small, and really expensive. They make them too thin. They don't put much ingredients in them too. Their breakfast burritos are to plain meat cheese and egg. They don't have variety. I'm not coming back here ever. I grew up in the area amd food was good bavk in the 90's but again it must be new owners who are just cheap and have high prices and small burritos. I can pay the same or evn less.for a good size burrito!
