El Viejón Seafood & Brunch Reviews
My nachos was stale and barely any meat so if you ask for no cheese and sour cream on the side, note, it will look disappointing. $22 is expensive with the meat they gave, only on top nothing in the middle or bottom of the container. El Viejón Seafood & Brunch is a lively restaurant in the Mira Mesa area that offers a variety of seafood and Mexican dishes. It is known for its good food, friendly staff, and welcoming atmosphere. Many customers enjoy the seafood options, especially the tacos with smoked tuna and pork belly, as well as the Pulpo a la Brasas. The restaurant also features brunch dishes like chilaquiles, huevos con chorizo, and pancakes, which are beautifully presented and taste great. The full bar offers a selection of tequila and Mezcal, and the bartenders can craft tasty drinks like a Smokey Mezcal Old Fashioned and Margaritas.
The environment is cozy and inviting, although it can get loud during busy times. Service is friendly but sometimes spotty, with servers occasionally passing by without noticing needs, such as water refills or tableware. Sides like cilantro and onions are generous, but tortilla chips are limited and cost extra. Parking is plentiful but can be busy during lunch hours, especially since there is only one entry and exit. While the overall experience is positive and many customers plan to return, some note that certain items, like the whole fried fish, may no longer be available during brunch. Despite minor service inconsistencies, El Viejón remains a popular spot for seafood lovers and those seeking a vibrant dining experience.
